I was looking at their Round 18 team before and they played Witts, Cloke, White, Goldsack, Keefe, Frost and Reid. That's 7 players 193cm or taller. No wonder teams were able to run rings around them.

that's not that uncommon- three tall backs, three tall forwards and a ruckman

Mr.Craig

It's the lack of flexibility more than anything. I know Sack and Reid have been used as swingers previously but there's still an element of predictability which I think other teams can exploit. It's a bit the same with the whole squad tbh. I dunno, maybe I'm just looking at it through Hawthorn glasses where pretty much everyone in the team is expected to play three different roles.

meow meow

B: Toovey, Brown, Williams
HB: Langdon, Frost, Young
M: Sidebottom, Greenwood, Dwyer
HF: Thomas, Reid, Elliott
F: Goldsack, Cloke, Fasolo
R: Witts, Pendlebury, Swan
Int: Grundy, Sinclair, Blair, Varcoe

Emg: Keefe, Freeman, Broomhead, Adams, Seedsman, Kennedy, White

^ That looks pretty bang on IMO

I'm just itching for Broomy and Kennedy to get games!

find it very hard to believe Seedsman is not best 22

I think its the Pies inability to hit targets more so tbh man. Pretty sure they had the worst disposal efficiency in the comp
It'd be hard for those bigger boys to succeed if they can't get hit up properly

I'd probably prefer this

B: Toovey, Reid, Williams
HB: Langdon, Frost, Seedsman
M: Sidebottom, Swan, Greenwood
HF: Goldsack, White, Varcoe
F: Fasolo, Cloke, Elliott

Foll: Witts, Pendlebury, Thomas
Int: Broomhead, Brown, Blair, Adams

Emg: Grundy, Kennedy, Freeman

Sinclair, Crisp, Young
Dwyer, Keefe and Karnezis all waiting in the wings.
I'd put Armstrong in the top 25 as well

The swans had 7 players 191 cm or over on grand final day.
Freo had 7 players over 190 cm in their last game
Hawks had 8 player 193cm  or taller in the granny

Although some of those collingwood talls are really slow

Thought i'd have a crack:

B: Toovey, Brown, Williams
HB: Langdon, Frost, Seedsman
M: Sidebottom, Greenwood, Young
HF: Thomas, Reid, Elliott
F: Goldsack, Cloke, Broomhead
R: Witts, Pendlebury, Swan
Int: Grundy, Sinclair, Blair
SUB: Varcoe

Emg: Keefe, Fasolo, Dwyer, Kennedy, White

I'm still not sure about Goldsack being a forward, i think hes kicking is too erratic, Dwyer could come in for him and the the resting ruck could fill that spot

Fasolo having a big pre season. Saw him out the front of CQ at about 3am Sunday morning cooked off his face sucking on a dry water bottle arguing with the security guards to let him back in haha!
In my pissed state I went and shook his hand and told him Collingwood were shower and he simply replied with "shhhhhh"

Collingwood
B: Nathan Brown, Jack Frost, Alan Toovey
HB: Tom Langdon, Lachie Keeffe, Marley Williams
C: Travis Varcoe, Dane Swan, Clinton Young
HF: Jamie Elliott, Ben Reid, Steele Sidebottom
F: Tyson Goldsack, Travis Cloke, Jarryd Blair
R: Jarrod Witts, Scott Pendlebury, Levi Greenwood
I/C: Brodie Grundy, Taylor Adams, Alex Fasolo
Sub: Paul Seedsman

New players: Levi Greenwood (North Melbourne), Travis Varcoe (Geelong).
Unavailable: Brent Macaffer (knee)

Comment: Compared to previous years, the Pies boast fewer big names but their talent is spread more evenly, with a large group of promising young players being challenged to stake their claims. Speedy ex-Cat Varcoe adds some valuable experience and flexibility with his ability to play in attack, defence and on a wing, while former Kangaroo Levi Greenwood will shoulder some of the grunt work following the departure of Dayne Beams. A major structural issue for the Pies is whether they deploy swingman Reid forward or back - if he goes back, White or ruckmen Witts or Grundy would be the candidates as second tall option in attack. At this stage tagger Macaffer is the only frontliner unavailable early in the season. Youngsters who could surprise include Ben Kennedy, Tim Broomhead, ex-Lion Jack Crisp, Nathan Freeman and new draftees Darcy Moore, Jordan De Goey. - Ben Collins

Spite

Give me seedsman on a wing and Adams as sub over clint.

Josh Thomas, Sinclair,  unlucky.

That team is too tall I think, one of brown, frost and Keefe won't play and goldy will play back I think. Will allow another runner into the team
