Grundy is not Best 22 at this stage, finished last in the time trial the other day
Has he had an interrupted preseason mate? Or just struggling atm?

He gives away far to many freekicks and is sloppy around the grounds, I would have Witts infront of him as well. Until he can learn how to be more clean around the footy and in ruck contests, I can't see him being the pies number 1 ruckman next year.

Should still start round 1 though as Witts and Grundy vs Leuey and Martin should be great.

Yeh so do I man, Witts is definitely #1. Just interested to know why he's struggling so much

Grundy is not Best 22 at this stage, finished last in the time trial the other day (Scharenberg even beat him), he's sloppy below his feet and really needs to refine his skills which are poor.. I really do not like Blair in the team either as we have way too many medium/smalls and would love BenKen to steal that role from him (although Bucks loves Blair) - Reid down back makes us long so much stronger across the park, and Frost is a must have.
Langdon and Seedsman are a must in our Best 21 in my eyes, allows Reid to play that swing role if need be and gives us the option of more run and power across half back - could even see Seeds playing loose across half back.
Jessie White has to be in our best team also, as he can share the ruck load much like Leigh Brown did in our premiership year, and gives us the option of playing the SACK down forward who gives us so much grunt and pressure, it's unreal.

DeGoey/Freeman/Broomhead/Crisp/Armstrong/Keefe/Karnezis will all get bulk game time this year, and I would love to see them all used early. Young/Fasolo/Sinclair etc are hopefully there for depth, lack too much on field and make mistakes under pressure (although Fas is quite clean, just had a terrible time with injuries).

Grundy has to play because White is incapable of playing ruck and Witts isn't ready to take on more than 70% of the load.

Keefe has been training as a forward all preseason. Playing him instead of White enables Witts to play as the lone ruck since Keefe is well and truly tall enough to give him a chop out, and it gives Reid someone to swing with.

Yeh also saw that. Will be interesting to see how the Keefe move works out

He played a bit forward early in his first season from memory.

After last nights game, what does everyone think of you best 22 now?

With so many of our actual best 22 missing it's hard to say. Putting Cloke into that forward line changes the structure dramatically, though I wouldn't be surprised to see him push up the ground a bit more, he needs to lead out a bit more often imo to avoid getting mobbed.  Pendles + Swan also slot into the mids, meaning players like DeGoey may have to wait a bit longer to grab an opportunity.

With the recent developments of Thomas and Keeffe, who are most likely to take their place and how does this affect Collingwood's best 22?

JBs-Hawks

It would be good if we were allowed to use M.Brown and Jones

Buckley said there were a number of players leading the charge based on their pre-season form.

"Tim Broomhead stood up against Richmond (in a VFL practice match last Thursday). We played 24 players against the Bulldogs (in the NAB Challenge), we still need to drop a couple off there," Buckley said.

"Patty Karnezis has been really solid throughout, Paul Seedsman is coming up and thereabouts, Jordan De Goey performed really well against Richmond last Thursday, Ben Kennedy as well.
