Az won't play all 22 - he's only on a 1 year contract. I'm fairly confident that if McBean develops to an extent that the club is happ enough with that they could move him on as soon as the end of the 2014...

Just be patient with mcbean lads. He still looks like a new born giraffe but he is going to go BANG very soon. Will be our best forward in 2 years time

He's not as bad as you put it, was on fire in the 2s during the middle part of the year before he was injured.
I don't think he'll be in for Rd1 but I'd expect an appearance by about Rd6-8 and play at least 10 senior games.

I'm talking about his build. I know he's a gun. Gonna need to pack on some more size to cope at AFL level but when he does, expect big things

There are a few beanpoles going around... But yeah, probably needs to beef up just a little.

I remember watching a video from the club's site from the middle of this year where he said he was up to about 93-94 kegs from the low 80s he was officially listed at. If he can hit 100 that'd be pretty impressive.

Nige

I reckon he should be around the mark come the start of the year. They'll probably make him play at least the first month in the VFL to get into some sort of form and then call him up for a debut.

And that was in Oct. Also said he probably would've played seniors this year if he didn't get an injury...

So, post draft(s) we now have Beatle, Nippa, Sammy Lloyd, Todd Banfield, The Tank and Ant Miles to factor in... or not?  :P

This was AFL.com's verdict

Richmond
B Dylan Grimes, Alex Rance, Steven Morris
HB Jake Batchelor, Troy Chaplin, Bachar Houli
C Shaun Grigg, Trent Cotchin, Reece Conca
HF Daniel Jackson, Ty Vickery, Nick Vlastuin
F Shane Edwards, Jack Riewoldt, Dustin Martin
FOLL Ivan Maric, Brett Deledio, Brandon Ellis
INT Shaun Hampson, Nathan Foley, Matt Dea
SUB Chris Newman

NOTES: It is expected that the Tigers will take a relatively settled line-up into the start of the 2014 season. Former Carlton ruckman Shaun Hampson is the only new face, and Ivan Maric is sure to appreciate his support, which is likely to mean that Ty Vickery will spend less time in the ruck. Jake King and Aaron Edwards are among the regular senior players not included in this team. - Adam McNicol

TOTAL PLAYER RATINGS VALUE: 6664 points
TOP PLAYER: Trent Cotchin, 470 points

Kellogscrunchynut

Whats their reasoning behind the selecion of Bachelor?

Nige

Yeah, not sure whether Batchelor would be in it or Dea, I reckon Jake King would make it.

Newy to Batch's spot in that team and Push-Up for Dea?

The sub might be interesting.

Toga

My team would be:

B Dylan Grimes  Alex Rance  Steven Morris
HB Bachar Houli  Troy Chaplin  Brandon Ellis
C Shaun Grigg  Trent Cotchin  Dustin Martin
HF Shane Edwards  Jack Riewoldt  Nick Vlastuin
F Shaun Hampson  Ty Vickery  Sam Lloyd

Fol Ivan Maric  Brett Deledio  Daniel Jackson

INT Chris Newman  Reece Conca  Nathan Gordon
S Ricky Petterd

Not sure how accurate that will be heading into round 1 but I hope it's close. The back 6 is pretty set and I think it is very solid with Houli and Ellis' run off the flanks, with Newman on the bench if we need more of a lock down role from one of the flankers.

A big plus I can see is our midfield depth - it was hard to choose just six to name in the middle. Vlastuin, Conca, Ellis, Edwards and even Gordon I can see rotating through from their starting positions.

The forward line has been shaken up a bit but I like the look of it. Edwards and Lloyd will be the crumbing forwards that we have lacked at times in past seasons, while Hampson will probably take Az Edwards' spot..

I've named Gordon & Lloyd in the team as I think they can definitely make an immediate impact; Lloyd is the kind of player we've been missing (will take over from Kingy), while Gordon is Titch-like in that he will be dangerous up forwards but can also run through the midfield, ensuring we always have a few dangerous smalls up front.

Benny Lennon could easily crack into the team ahead of a Gordon/Petterd or someone pending his preseason - I've named Petterd the sub because he can play in a bunch of positions and versatility is always good in a sub player.

I've probably missed someone out glaringly obviously, let me know if I have haha :P

Nige

Axel is the notable omission for me, Togasm.

I daresay we'll give him another season or two before he retires early-ish at 30.

Think he was sub once or twice, might put him instead of Ricky.

Whoever selected this side doesn't watch Richmond games. There's no way Batchelor or Dea are in our starting 22
