Thats the 2013 draw Colli..

I just quoted the 2013 draw for the format, and I am currently modifying the post.

the draw will be up here tonight -

NOTE: BB67TH has to look it over and sign off on it first. We will need to check for errors and possibly make changes however I think I have it right.

This season is a little different, however I have for the most part avoided teams playing each other twice on the same home ground, but there is an instance of this or two from memory, the random nature of those extra 4 games where you play a team twice randomly generated, makes it all but impossible to, keep the home and away games per team the same, and keep the teams who play twice on different home grounds.

But no draw is ever even or 100% accurate, however I think this one is a lot lot more even than any AFL draw ever.

Last season I did a lot of work on making everything even and not random, this season based on our votes I have allowed the random aspects of it to remain, which I feel looking at it makes it more interesting.

Teams have very different runs at the start and end, teams have runs of home games and away games it is very mixed up.

But in the end, every team plays every other team once, and 4 random teams twice.

every team plays 9 home games, 9 away games, and 1 neutral game in rivalry round.

some teams get an easier draw due to the extra 4 teams played twice, for some it is hard, for some easy and some balanced, this based on last seasons ladder positions, which are only partially relevant for htis season.

I will do a draw analysis for interest sake or have BB do one and post here also this season.

Was there any discussion as to moving the grand final forward a week. So Round 22 of the AFL season as a pose to Round 23.

In case we were to get the ridiculous Ross Lyon/Freo scenario this season?

I did consider it but there is this article on the AFL banning that behaviour.

it will happen across our final series as it always does, but hopefully now to a much lesser degree.

Honestly I don't think that will have much effect at all. Yes a club won't rest 10+ players but they could still give 4-5 players or at least a couple of their main guns the week off and state injury/player management.

And, that could have a profound effect on the grand final. For example if the Folders got there and the Pies decided to rest Cloke and Swan. It would still be ok given this new rule but would probably destroy the Folders chances of winning.

No point changing it for next season if you've done the fixtures but for the future I think the second last round would be a better grand final for the XV comps.

Colliwobblers

i take your point memph and in DT and SC this showers me every season.

in my BXVS grand final this season I have 7 of my best XV rested for my final.

but can we really count on the round before being much better?

think it is a bit random, depends where clubs are on the ladder and on points and what their form coming in is, but i agree it is an issue.
