I'm willing to say Gold Coast will finish top 8. Don't think they'll get anywhere past an elimination final

and who do you think wont for them to get in?

Ricochet

Gold Coast won't finish higher than 11th

This is possibly one of the hardest years to predict the ladder. It's always hard but not normally this hard.
As most people will agree, there are  about 5 certainties for the 8 and the rest are up for grabs between about 6 teams.

The bottom 6, no doubt will consist of GWS,Melbourne, StKilda, most likely Brisbane(no hate, can't disagree though) and 2 other teams.

A few teams like North, Rich and Port but mainly Rich and North, could come 4th or finish 8th.

Port are a genuine team, better than most but not a premiership contender...not yet anyway.

Richmond are deadly close but still probably a season away.

Then there are teams like Westcoast and Adelaide. Probably neither of these two clubs will make the finals but who know, footy's a funny game. Either of these two teams could drop even further, almost as like StKilda did or they could pull their fingers out and play some really good footy.

To make the 8 you can't be a disgraceful team but you don't have to be elite either, only a few are elite every year.
Having a good run of games and winning a handful on the trott can prove monumental but it's not always the case.
(Taking nothing away from Port, if they had a few harder games at the start and their winnable games scattered they may have ended up anywhere from 9-12th.

The question is, Will Goldcoast play finals next year? Which teams will fall below them or be climbed above. They have improved immensely but for me just one more year maybe a 9th or 10th place finish but after that, they should definitely make it.

No... No they wont.

Which bit???

The question at the bottom. HAve been gifted with a soft draw last few years (as needed), This year draw is slightly tougher, they will get slightly better. But not enough to oull 12-13 wins. Thinking 9-10 wins for them.

Fantasygun

Yeah true, like I said, I reckon one more year before they can get into the 8

Gold Coast have 15 winnable games (with Essendon/Carlton being unlikely) so its certainly feasible that they could win over 10 games

I'm adding WCE games as unlikely and also Carlton at Etihad as well. I have 9 games that they have a "very very good chance" to win, and a couple of 50/50s. Only see them at 9-10 wins.

But Elephants gave them 5 wins... They had 4 by round 8 this year so surely more than 5...

I can count 6 games already where Gold Coast would be 95% or greater at winning and another 6 or so where they'd be 50% or more

I want the Suns much higher but the backlash from people if I put their team below the Suns is really not worth it.

And I never put a figure on it soooo...

I had GC down for 8 wins.

Agree with your top 7 Ratings Rico

Could only find 1 win in the 50/50 group which might have been harsh. Vs West Coast, which I think is more 75/25

Gave the ones I see as real 50/50 to brisbane and adelaide

Carlton and Port are teams looking to make finals, so they should win their games, even at MS

How can you make a ladder prediction without adding their wins up?

And Ric Pies at 25% is stiff...

Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'm not inclined to sit down with the fixture and mark win or draw next to every single game ::)

Lol hardly. Pies have added Adams, White, Karnezis to their starting 22 while only losing Shaw from their 2013 side (Thomas hardly played). Both squads will improve and develop but I don't see GC improving enough to be at the same level as the Pies just yet. Collingwood will still be strong again. The game GC won this year was clearly an upset... Pies butchered the ball and didn't tag Ablett. I don't expect it to happen again in 2014
