From the Facebook page "AFL Trade Rumours 2013"

"St Kilda asked Scott Watters not to be interviewed this week and Scott took it upon himself to force the issue.

It is believed that Scott has had major issues with both the Ex-CEO and the current Captain.

Scott also had big issues with Football Manager Chris Pelchan and did not talk privately.

There is also a happiness from the playing group about this sacking."

Not sure how much of this is true.

Maybe to much has changed since his original appointment or there is somebody else they've head hunted.
Anyway, dogged hard

Surely you guys would have expected it? It's been speculated about for a while now. He isn't a great coach, but the timing is weird.
However, it would be silly for the Saints to sack him before the trade period as Longer, Savage, Delaney and Bruce may not have wanted to come there.
Not the worst decision IMO, as IMO I don't think he was a good coch.

Well that's flowered. Did any Saints fans expect this? I thought he was going alright, but I'm not that informed of any expectations or whatever that the board had of him.

he wasn't popular with the players when he coached Subiaco.....I don't think the Saints players thought much more of him either.
When he was at Collingwood he "allegedly" had a a crack at their media co-oridantor because he wasn't getting enough media time lol....
Today he was sacked apparently because he had no permission to talk to the radio....
Sounds like he likes the limelight a bit too much

I kinda saw this coming for the reason that JROO said... I just find the timing a bit odd. Interesting to see who they appoint and when they do it.

Kosi?  :P  But seriously... The coaching merry-go-round of sorts finished, who's still on the market?  ???

Justin Bieber

Didn't he have an argument with Nick and the board?

Amazing, absolutely shocking news!

Caps off a very eventful off-field year for the AFL

he was a decent coach with Subiaco but that was because the list had talent....

this St Kilda list has next to no talent anywhere on the park now..... (sorry Saints fans)

not that the players cant play, more that there is very few who can wrestle control back when the team is struggling

#Voss4coach

I really want Vossy to get it, but that's mainly because I don't want Choco to leave the Tiges.

kilbluff1985

if Vossy gets it NROO will be playing full back and Fisher full forward ::)

Another thing Jaxons has correctly called before it happened...
McEvoy- Savage
Hawthorn comp pick
Delaney -77
Bruce
Longer
Watter's position unworkable

& now...

Choco will be coach.

Good mate of mine plays for Subi and played under Watters. Told me that Watters was tripe....and couldn't fail at Subi at that time.
Mate has had two ex Subi players and his dad call him in the last hour laughing their socks off. Popular guy was Scott

The timing is probably good.
Would Delaney, Bruce and Longer have nominated us as their preferred club if we didn't have a coach? I don't know. Maybe not.

Watters didn't have the club's permission to go on SEN. SEN requested him and told no. Watters contacts them and says he can talk. Is that enough to sack him? Probably not but gives the club a reason if the situation was as bad as Mark Fine, Caro and others had caught a sniff of.
