Once again seeing what I can do, and made these changes;

Watson-->Daisy
Higgins-->Fasolo
Sandi-->Goldy

Leaves my team like this:

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, T. McKenzie, B. Waters, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (D. Gardiner, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, D. Beams, D. Thomas, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (M. Crouch, D. Garlett)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, T. Goldstein (D. Currie, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, M. Pavlich, P. Karnezis, A. Fasolo, L. McBean (M. Honeychurch, L. Taylor)
CASH LEFT: $18,500

Would basically mean I tank round 8 with 15 players there already

GoLions

Fasolo would probably be Bock actually

GoLions

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, T. McKenzie, B. Waters, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (D. Gardiner, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, D. Beams, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (M. Crouch, D. Garlett)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, M. Pavlich, S. Higgins, P. Karnezis, L. McBean (M. Honeychurch, L. Taylor)
CASH LEFT: $19,700

Def: Really wanted Scotty T in defence, but would have to drop McVeigh or Mitchell for him
Mids: Happy with midfield. Sloane I think will go to another level next year
Ruck: Really wanted Goldy and Leuey in my rucks, but had to go with Sandi as he was basically all I could afford
Fwd: After Pavlich, forwards are still undecided on which rookies and discounted players will make my starting team. Guys like Clark, Fasalo, and Hogan could come in for players suck as Higgins and Karnezis

OR

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, T. McKenzie, B. Waters, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (D. Gardiner, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, D. Beams, D. Thomas, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (M. Crouch, D. Garlett)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, T. Goldstein (D. Currie, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, M. Pavlich, P. Karnezis, N. Bock, M. Honeychurch (J. Kennedy-Harris, L. Taylor)
CASH LEFT: $41,800

Forwards will be finalised closer to round 1, except for Danger and Dusty who are locked in. Pav is basically a lock as well.
Goldy could become NicNat to give extra cash in order to bring in a better forward or defender. Could even become Sandi instead of NicNat depending on fitness.
Not convinced with Daisy at M5, but he is amazing value. Hoping he averages 100-105 and can be upgraded after making some good cash.

Thoughts guys? I'm personally leaning towards the first option at the moment I think, although will bring in Bock for Higgins most likely. The midfield just seems too weak in the 2nd option. Argh, this is doing my head in.

johnnytheboy1

As The Backs are  the same i can't comment on them.
Team 1 has the better midfield
As for the Rucks you would have to go with team 2 as Sandi is injury prone and it has been a few years since he played a full season.
As for your forwards i would replace Mcbean with Kersten. Team 1 is also risky because of Higgins if he can stay injury free for the first till the bye he can then be cashed in.
I would only just go with team 1 but there isn't much in it  and that is because of the one extra premium mid.

GoLions

Did a bit of tinkering after what happened with Waters...

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, G. Birchall, T. McKenzie, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (D. Gardiner, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, D. Beams, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (M. Crouch, D. Garlett)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, M. Pavlich, A. Fasolo, N. Bock, M. Honeychurch (J. Kennedy-Harris, L. Taylor)
CASH LEFT: $5,800

Ringo

Just watch rookies GL. Keep an eye on Benn Lennon and if named get him in forward line.

Also remember McKenzie has had a set back as well.

Forward line is a little thin in my opinion with Fasolo at F4. Risk here but go with gut.

GoLions

Will monitor McKenzie throughout the pre-season and if in doubt will probably try to turn him into a Scott Thompson.

Heard Lennon has been doing ok as well, will keep my eye on him.

If McKenzie is not fit for round 1, may drop him and Birchall for Thompson and a rookie, then upgrade a forward to someone like Motlop or Gunston.

My Chumps

- I'd look at steering clear of having Mitchell, Birchall and Suckling down back all taking points off each other. Birch is probably the weakest link. I'd recommend a straight swap to Hanley which would make your back line immensely strong.
- Mids are super too. I really like the unique selection of Sloane. Sound structure. Perhaps a little too unique if such a thing exists; I doubt Watson, Rockliff or Sloane will be in 10+% of teams to start the year. Could work, could backfire.
- Pairing Leuy and Sandi is a huge risk. Both have well publicised ongoing injury concerns. I suppose you'd know a bit more about Luey than I, but I'd be surprised if he played 20+ games this year. No doubting his scoring potential, just his durability. I'd also pencil in Sandi for only 15ish due to Freo nursing him through the season, which when you consider that Currie and Lobb are highly unlikely to play, could leave you with some headaches in the ruck department throughout the season.
- Forward line is a touch weaker. Still not sold on Pav myself, but I can see the appeal. I haven't heard how Fas is going pre-season but I wouldn't think he'll be a walk-up-starter for Collingwood with their new inclusions over the last year and a half, such as Ben Kennedy, Patrick Karnezis, Tim Broomhead, Kyle Martin, Sam Dwyer and Nathan Freeman all vying for that half-forward role.

Overall a solid effort GL but still a working progress ;)

Yeah I chucked Birch in as I couldn't afford anyone better :P
I think Rocky and Watson will both be in the top 8 mids by the end of the year, and are both reasonably cheap seeing as I believe they will average around 115 or so
Leuey will get more time up forward which I think will lead to more goals. Scored a few goals just as our only ruck last year, so think goals kicked will increase this year. I'm confident he can stay on the park, but if there are any doubts before round 1, he may become NicNat. Sandi is in as I couldn't afford anyone better. Really wanted Goldy. Agree with him being a massive risk. Ruck rookies aren't set in stone (same with rookies in other lines)
Fasolo, Bock etc are only in if named round 1. Don't think Fas will play every game, but if he plays the majority up until his bye, could upgrade him then. As I said in my previous post if McKenzie struggles in pre-season will find a way to bring in someone like Motlop or Gunston

Cheers Cumpy :)

No worries man, hope I could be of some assistance.

By the way, love the profile pic  :-*

The Changes you should make are Mckenzie & either Honeychurch or Kennedy-Harris  & bring in Thompson or Swallow for Mckenzie &  Ben Lennon for one of your rookies.Fasolo is a bit of a risk at F4.

DC13

cheers for giving your time to rate my team mate.

DEF: Really like it mate, McVeigh and Mitchell I just cant bring myself to start without them, birchall and McKenzie are good PODs. Good depth as well with suckling at d5.
MID: very strong. Like the POD pick of Sloane too mate, having 5 premos there will give you an edge. Good rookie choices.
RUCK: Leuy is a good pick, should improve to 100+ after a full pre season. Sandi a good cash option.
FWD: Not bad, not really sold on pav though, will average higher than last year but only just in my opinion. As a Collingwood supporter theres a lot of competition for spots and I don't really see fas getting consecutive games together, he will play but I don't think he will on a regular basis. Bock a good choice along with rookies.

Overall its a pretty good team mate, very strong defence and mids, solid ruck, my only worry is your forward line but hopefully for your sake it pulls off, 8/10

Cheers mate. Yeah I think Mitchell is a must have, and McVeigh is right behind him IMO.
Love Sloaney, think he'll kill it this year :D
Would rather a Goldy over Sandi, but alas I have no more cash  :-\
I think Pav will push for top 5 forwards, but that's just my opinion. All the cheaper options in my forward line aren't set in stone. If they're not named round 1, they don't make my starting team.

Looking good mate.

Defence looks sound, good choice of premiums, one rookie is also the way to go.
Mids look good, 5 premiums or there about with good choice of rookies. I'm not sure on Sloane but that's upto you mate.
Very strong rucks, you won't need to change them all year hopefully. Doesn't compromise your team very much also which is surprising.
Forwards look good, I like your mid pricers and choice of premiums.

Well done mate looking strong.
