Not bothered by having a bunch of uniques? With a few injury prone? Like your style Davo ;D  Just risky having some dodgy body's there alongside the likes of Fasolo and Mackenzie

If any of the injury prone players have a single doubt about their fitness prior to round 1, then I won't be starting them.
Fasolo is cheap, and McKenzie should do even better than last season. He didn't have a full pre-season which he will have next year, so should lift his average by at least 5 ppg IMO.

And which players do you classify as unique? I see Sloane and Scotty T. Sloane I've already spoken about, and Thompson isn't set in my side, could easily become a Birchall, Hibberd, Hanley, etc.

Cheers Sparkles

Made a few changes yet again, been very busy procrastinating uni assignments  ;D

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Thompson, T. McKenzie, M. Suckling, B. Waters, S. Edwards (K. Aylett, F. Roberts)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, R. Sloane, T. Rockliff, D. Beams, L. Dunstan, C. Beams, M. Crouch (A. Morabito, J. Martin)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, T. Goldstein (D. Currie, L. McBean)
FWD: A. Fasolo, N. Naitanui, D. Martin, D. Thomas, M. Pavlich, S. Higgins (V. Michie, J. Hogan)
CASH LEFT: $38,500

If 100% fit, Waters is locked. Any doubt and he's gone.
Think Watson is underpriced and will go top 8 mids. Expect Rocky, Pendles, Beams all to go top 10. Sloane I think can definitely go top 15 (possibly higher) and is worth the risk.
Gone for set and forget rucks this time
Dusty may lose DPP, and will possibly drop for Karnezis if he does, and will use cash to bring in another defender

Tear it to shreds ladies

Note: IDGAF about rookies
Stupid DPP business messing with my shower.

Thinking of making these changes;
OUT: Goldy, Thompson, Daisy
IN: S Mitchell, Dangerfield, forward rookie

NicNat gets moved into rucks. Can't be flowered messing around with rookies. Everyones talking about their prices being increased, but I don't believe it will happen in SC, and if it does then the salary cap will likely be increased as it did in DT.

Ringo

Only thing Dave is I think Martin and Hogan may be premium priced this year so that will be an issue of it does occur.

With Eagles managing Nat atm maybe just replace him with another prem forward.

GoLions

I just cannot see the rookie prices going up without our salary cap being increased. If they did go up, we'd get an extra 1 million or so, yes? Could always just downgrade nicnat to a rookie if he's not 100% as well if the cap isn't increased maybe? I think I might just leave it as is until everything is 100% confirmed...

Cheers Ringo

Ringo

I will be too Dave but just out of interest O'Meara last year in DT started at $108,500 in DT and according to the leaked prices Martin is priced at $268,300 and Hogan at $265,600 matching the price of Tom Boyd 1st draft pick of $265,900, So my point is that if SC follow this strategy we can expect both Hogan and Martin to be a similar price to be Boyd not the $115k. This applies whether increase in cap or not just another change.

GoLions

Oh ok, I understand now. In that case, of the forwards I currently have, I think I'll drop 2 of Daisy, Dusty, NicNat, Pavlich; and replace with Danger and a rookie. That should make me at least 200k. May drop Goldy for Sandi as well, so another 300k or so there. That should be enough then if SC follows suit.

Or I just won't start the expensive rookies. The whole point of your rookies is for cash generation, and if they're starting at 250k, that's at least 100k less that they'll be earning you. I'm not gonna fiddle with it now, but if this is the case, I think I'll start with cheaper roookies who are named round 1, and likely to play a lot of games (assuming any of these will exist at all).

johnnytheboy1

I also think that Michie is only a Mid this year and Martin is an expensive player to have sitting on your mid bench.

GoLions

Yeah I saw that the leaked info has Michie as mid only. I think I might leave it until everything is confirmed, because I don't wanna change everything around only to find out that some stuff may have been wrong. Martin would more than likely be in the starting 8 mids, I just haven't been bothered to switch the names around :P

Cheers johnny

GoLions

Had a fiddle with the updated prices, thoughts?

TEAM NAME: Dave's Legends
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, T. McKenzie, B. Waters, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (D. Gardiner, J. Kolodjashnij)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, R. Sloane, D. Beams, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (M. Crouch, D. Garlett)
RUC: M. Leuenberger, A. Sandilands (D. Currie, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, M. Pavlich, S. Higgins, P. Karnezis, L. McBean (M. Honeychurch, L. Taylor)
CASH LEFT: $19,700

Def: Really wanted Scotty T in defence, but would have to drop McVeigh or Mitchell for him
Mids: Happy with midfield. Sloane I think will go to another level next year
Ruck: Really wanted Goldy and Leuey in my rucks, but had to go with Sandi as he was basically all I could afford
Fwd: After Pavlich, forwards are still undecided on which rookies and discounted players will make my starting team. Guys like Clark, Fasalo, and Hogan could come in for players suck as Higgins and Karnezis

Ringo

Nice Team here GL

Like most i assume you had trouble getting the right structure with the changed prices.  You have done a solid job here nice structure,

Just ensure your rookies and cash cows are playing from round 1. (Lewis Taylor is coming back from an injury and training with the rehab group).
Also keep an eye on bock if named as at $196k has great cash generating potential.

johnnytheboy1

Hi GoLIONS
You Have a fairly with a few risks up forward.
Backs Solid no changes neded
Mids: I also like the Sloane pick think he will outscore Thompson this year and be the second best mid behind Dangerfield at the Crows.
Rucks: Like the Pick of Leuenbergerger don't see him in many teams so could be a unique pick.
Fwds; This is where there is a Risk/Reward the payers such as Higgins could burn you but if they can stay on the to make you enough money then you have made money to upgrade to a potential premium.

Overall  You have done well when picking this team although you may change it before roound 1 i give it an 7.5/10

GoLions

Cheers guys. Just managing to pick 30 players within the salary cap was difficult enough, haha.
Will keep an eye on Bock, Ringo. If he's named round 1, probably a 99% chance of making my team. Thought there were doubts on that though?
Any rookie not named round 1 will not be in my team to start off with. They're there to make cash, not warm the bench :P

Yeah johnny massive risks in the forwards. I don't really like it tbh, but you have to go cheap somewhere. The more I think about it, the more I kinda want to bring Bock in. If he's named round 1, he's in I reckon.

First upgrade or 2 will definitely be in the forward line  ;D
