Keep an eye on Gardiner at Lions as well. He may get games.

Heard is name a bit but dont know much about him. Is thisdarcy gardiner the key defender?

Ringo

Yes - but is ready to go looking at his physique and highlights.

dmac07

TEAM NAME: D-Mac's Destroyers
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, P. Hanley, M. Suckling, K. Kolodjashnij, J. Laidler (K. Aylett, L. McDonald)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, D. Beams, J. Polec, D. Tyson, C. Beams (L. Dunstan, M. Crouch)
RUC: N. Naitanui, A. Sandilands (R. Lobb, L. McBean)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, T. Cloke, M. Clark, N. Bock, A. Fasolo (M. Honeychurch, J. Kennedy-Harris)
CASH LEFT: $42,200

Prices have changed a lot on fanplanner so starting again with new positions and increased rookie prices.

Def - McVeigh,  Mitchell and Hanley are picks to be the top 3 scoring backs this year, so they are set and forget. Suckling an easy pick at his price. Rookies a bit tough, kolodjasnij, laidler and mcdonald should all get games but keeping an eye out for a more bottom priced def rookie.
Mid - Decided this is the year to start without Ablett, Pendles is the biggest lock this year. Selwood and Watson should both be top 10 mids without a problem, Rockliff im not certain on at this stage, could be swapped for Cotchin. Rookies up in the air till the preseason, may end up with first year players replacing polec or tyson if they impress enough.
Ruck - Nic Nat is a lock at this stage, Sandi is a lock if fit and named rnd 1, if not will cross that bridge later.
Fwd - Dangerfield and Martin are the locks as they will both get plenty of mid time. I will probably get picked out for having Cloke, but is in the prime of his career at 26, kicking cant get any worse, and both the addition of White and the new marking interpretation allowing greater use of strength in marking contests can only help. Only needs 4-5 points a game improvement to be a top 6 fwd. Clark is there as a quick uograde, but might save some cash and go to Higgins on the off chance higgins gets fit. Bock and Fasolo are locked at under 200k if named rnd 1, then two likely rookies that may change.

dmac07

Updates side using final prices and positions.

Def - McVeigh, Mitchell, Hanley, Suckling, Kolodjashnij,  McDonald (Tippet, Gardiner)
Mid - Pendlebury, J.Selwood, Watson, Rockliff, Thomas, J.Martin, Tyson, C.Beams (L.Taylor, M.Crouch)
Ruck - Naitanui,  Sandilands (Derickx, Brown)
Fwd - Dangerfield, Martin, Cloke, M.Clark, Fasolo, Lennon (Apeness, Honeychurch)

Cash -$80,800

Still playing around with this side a lot.

Def - Three of who I will think will be the top premiums, Suckling is great value, the rookies are the hardest to pick here, still looking for some better than Tippet and Gardiner.
Mid - The top 4 premiums should all be top 10 mids. Have Thomas over Beams at m5 at the moment, might change this,  but my tninking is that Beams will be just short of a top 10 mid and thomas provides greater value if fit. Will watch the rookies but paying the premium for martin at tjis point, taylor in for mpp.
Ruck - Nic nat to return to his best, Sandi if fit will be in.
Fwd - Danger and martin pick themselves, cloke might seem a strange pick, but think he will be a good unique, the addition of white, the new marking rule interpretation, and he cant kick any worse. That and others like riewoldt, harvey, petrie around the same price are on the way down, and cloke is still in his prime.

benno123

backline is pretty much the exact same as mine, thinking its a good structure to go with, agree with your points on the players as well. Mids look good. Rucks are pretty standard with what a lot are going with. Cloke is an interesting pick, not for me, but i think he can improve his average, and the new marking rules should benefit him greatly. Overall good side mate.

Anthonyyyy

that team looks exactly like mine except with a few minor changes so I really like it though but my only concern is the forward line as you have a lot of players with the round 8 bye if I recall coz mine used to look almost identical

TEAM NAME: D-Mac's Destroyers
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, P. Hanley, K. Simpson, K. Kolodjashnij, L. McDonald (K. Aylett, J. Tippett)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, D. Beams, D. Thomas, J. Martin, C. Beams, V. Michie (L. Dunstan, L. Taylor)
RUC: N. Naitanui, A. Sandilands (R. Lobb, T. Nankervis)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, T. Cloke, M. Clark, A. Fasolo, D. Markworth (M. Honeychurch, J. Kennedy-Harris)
CASH LEFT: $5,400

Changed around a bit, got rid of rockliff for beams to free up some cash, got rid of suckling who I wasnt real comfortable having at d4.

Ringo

Do not mind this team dmac.

Def: 4 solid prems but need 2 of your rookies playing each week. I have a concern with Hanley is his ability to handle a tag - When he was tagged 3 times this year by McAffer 49 SC points, by Cross 80 SC points and by Taylor Hunt 79 SC points.  IMO Hanley will cop a second or 3rd tag after Rich.
Mids: Again 4 solid premiums plus Thomas. Solid rookies but make sure they are playing Taylor may be a risk as he is training with rehab group atm.
Rucks: Favoured Pairing
Forwards: Sound Cloke may be a POD for you.  Would also look at Bock here if named for Round 1 at $196k cheaper than some of your rookies and has great potential cash gains.

Thanks for the feedback Ringo.

Was looking at Hanley/Shaw as a POD for the backline. Really think Hanley has huge upside and see the most improvement in him out of any of the backs, that could be counteracted by tagging, but still a call to make, might change to Shaw which would be even more unique. Taylor is in there for MPP, like either Taylor/Honeychurch in the mids to give me dpp, if one is named will get this spot, or if none will just forget the dpp. Agree with Bock and have had him in up until this point, took him out for an extra 40k, but will end up with 2-3 out of bock, clark, hogan, fasolo, karnezis, those calls will have to wait till the preseason though.

TEAM NAME: D-Mac's Destroyers

MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, J. Watson, T. Rockliff, D. Thomas, C. Beams, V. Michie, X. Ellis (L. Dunstan, D. Garlett)

CASH LEFT: $21,200

Still playing around.

Def - Hard line to pick as there arent many obvious rookies, not a big fan of suckling at m5 but may find room for him if rookies arent playing, happy with my 4 premiums though. Shaw may become Simpson but like him as a pod right now, surprised I havent seen a singoe other team with him.
Mid - Saved some cash buy starting without GAJ, like the extra strength it adds overall, rookie positions couod change, but without seeing the nab happy with these guys so far, except maybe Garlett but in there for dpp right now.
Rucks - Nic nat to bounce back, watch on Sandi, but if fit and named round 1 youd be crazy not to start him, even with the injury risk.
Fwd - Standard Danger/Martin combo, Cloke as a bit of a unique, the new marking rules and the addition 8f White to the pies line up should help. Clark/fasolo can be substituted for karnezis, hogan or higgins based on the preseason.

Bye structure is 8/9/13 which I am fine with, 7 rookiex or cash cows in the final bye round allows extra time for them to mature and a few should be ready to be traded out the previous two rounds to help keep the team full.

johnnytheboy1

Def: The Only query here is what sort of Role is Shaw going to be playing at GWS.Just have to wait for the Nab Cup games for that to be answered
Mids: No Problems here Watson will be a good Pick again this year.
Rucks: I would only go with one of these 2 maybe bring Lobbe in
Fwds: If it wasn't for his bad Kicking Cloke would be a great pick so there are probably better options at F3 apart from Buddy i think Wingard might be a good choice.I would get Lennon in instead of Markworth.

The team you have picked is OK  bye structure is a bit Risky with 13 out in Round 10 give your team an 7.5/10

TEAM NAME: D-Mac's Destroyers
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, H. Shaw, J. Grimes, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (H. Schade, M. Fuller)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, J. Watson, D. Beams, D. Thomas, C. Beams, V. Michie, X. Ellis (L. Dunstan, M. Honeychurch)
RUC: M. Lobbe, A. Sandilands (T. Derickx, R. Lobb)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, T. Cloke, L. Franklin, M. Clark, T. Menzel, A. Fasolo (D. Markworth, J. Kennedy-Harris)
CASH LEFT: $25,300

Def - McVeigh and Mitchell are set and forget, Shaw is in the leadership group at gws, should play mostly on the wing and the gws mids will look to give it to him to utilize his run and carry, cant see why he wont be a top 5 def yet again. Im tossing up between grimes/swallow at d4 at the same price and will decide that on preseason. Tried to keep this line strong unless some decent rookies pop up in the nab.

Mid - gaj/pendles schould still be the top two scorers, watson is undervalued, thomas and beams value, rookies subject to change buta little cash to play with in them. Main choice in the mids was between having gaj/beams or going with rockliff/cotchin, went with the first option for now.

Rucks - a little standard, sandi esse tial if named rnd 1 and fit.

Fwd - A little weaker in oder to spend cash elsewhere, danger a must, cloke will improve with the new marking rule interpretation and think he could be a great pod, buddy to return to a top 5 fwd. Weakest line for premiums but no starting rookies, clark, menzel, fasolo all to improve significantly, have a watch on hogan, boyd, bock, higgins, any of which could substitute for one of my current three if they impress in the nab.

Leave a link to your team and ill rate it too.

Ringo

Nice solid team dmac. Just a couple of comments.

Mids OK if you do not mind 3 prems with the round 8 bye (reason why I had to decide between Gazz and Pendles as Beams is a must at that price). Personally I try to have no more than 2 prems with the same bye round.
Would like at replacing Lobb with Thurlow if promoted by Dons as he will more than likely then play and make cash for you.
Look at the NAB cup to finalise teams.

Very solid team and in all cases as you know go with gut.

G'day dmac

Strong defence, grimes high risk but high reward look to see how he is moving in nab cub! Look to other rookies because schade won't offer much as a cash cow. Other than that good defence.

3 top 6 mids to start good, S.Selwood good point of difference but I the JP. Kennedy is a better pick at around the same price. Don't let beams out of your 30. Can't see Honeychurch breaking into dogs side. I think Martin or Tyson should be three because they both could go 85+

I don't think Lobbe is a premium ruck to be picking with confidence, I'd be trying to move around him. Look at Nankervis and Thurlow for the rookie positions.

Like Dangerfield, Franklin, Menzel and Fasolo here good picks! Cloke good pick but key fwds are inconsistent. Clarke is injury prone ala why I'm not starting with him... Also for the rookies Kersten, Garlett and l.taylor are worth. Look.

Rate 8.25 out of 10 / 33 out of 40
