Jukes

Firstly, in this thread I will post my teams throughout the pre-season and season, updating every so often.
Secondly, the "famous" Jukes feedback and analysis thread will return in a couple of months. If you missed it, I had a thread last pre-season where a lot of people posted their teams and I reviewed it, until it all got too much for me to do. 15 pages last time was a solid effort, and I'm hoping to get more than that this season.
Thirdly, still thinking of a team name.

Not sure on Greene being a defender in 2014 in my personal opinion. If he is could be very solid OOP. Chappy I'm not sure how he will fit in at essedon, I believe he will be stuck in deep forward, also the fact he is coming from a 6 game season. There may be better midfield options at that price. The rest is looking good :)

I like Greene at first glance, if he can get back towards his debut year average of 96 he could be a very good DPP buy down back. Am 50/50 between him and Swallow.

Chappy is priced very cheaply, 367k, and has that DPP link. Probably won't get back to a 114 average like he had in 2010, but if his role looks good in the pre-season and he doesn't get hurt he should put on a decent amount of cash and possibly become a keeper. I was looking through the mids between 200k and 400k because I had loads of money to upgrade a rookie, and Chappy looked the best one at this stage. Plus, he's a bomber! :P

A nice mid option between 200-400K would be Matt Rosa. He is very underpriced from what he is capable of and will definitely return to a 90+ average if fit!

I wouldn't put money on him for a 90+, though 85 shouldn't be out of his reach and more what I expect. He also has a bit of competition to keep his place in the side, has to compete against Gaff, Dalziell, Cripps and Sheed (If drafted). He is the better player amongst them, so still a good left field option.

Jukes

I already have one eagle in my squad, too much! :P

I'll probably go with Chappy over Rosa because of;
1) previously averaged 110+.
2) has DPP
3) plays for the bombers
4) is discounted 20%

Looks decent Jukesy, although it'll be interesting to see whether Heppell keeps DPP and whether Greene gains it! Do you think either are likely?

Really like the midfield and forward line (the forwards are very similar to what mine probably will be 8)). Think Cotchin & Murphy are good picks as they are very underpriced for what they can do!

The only really risky pick I see here is Lobbe... I'm not sure how Redden returning from injury next year will affect his scores, I know a lot of Port supporters think they might play together (giving Lobbe a bit more time up forwards rather than in the middle).... So idk if he's worth the high starting price you'll be paying for him if there are question marks over whether his role will change at all next year! Might be wrong here, but just something to be weary of! ;)

But overall, really nice looking team! A good start!

Jukes

I hadn't really thought of Dys' DPP haha, I just used what I had available. For DT and Worlds sake I hope he retains it, if not I could just shuffle him to the exactly the same priced Bartel, or up/down to McVeigh or Ibbo. Greene is a maybe, again would just downgrade him to Swallow.

I like Lobbe and can see him as a very nice POD if he pays off, Leuey is probably as good if not a better option. 50/50

Cheers mate.

Vinny

Good start mate, like that you are backing Murphy and Cotchin. I think you need one of Pendlebury, Ablett, Swan or Selwood.
Very confident Heppell will become a midfield only, so might need to rethink there. Birchall maybe! Yaaay for the Chappy pick, gun but somewhat risky. Standard but solid forward line although Wingard is the only meh one there for me, haha. On ya Jukes, well done. :)

cheers vin

As I said in Toga's thread, can't see any of them increasing in average enough to warrant selection while guys like Watto, Beams, Cotch and Murph will score handsomely and increase in price significantly.

Toga

Yeah I'm really struggling to decide if I want one/two of them in my team tbh... I've got questions as to whether Selwood will be able to back up his second half of the season in 2014, and while Swanny & GAJ are still guns even if their averages drop, is it worth waiting on them before pouncing when they're cheaper?

Especially if the underpriced guys mentioned are able to get close to the old boys (which is possible), you can really only benefit from starting cheaper :-X

Decisions, decision! :P

Capper

Only 3 Dons in your mids?? Surely you can fit more. Heppell will go in there when he becomes a mid only

Ricochet

Might as well add Goddard and Zaha as well
