Tabs says: Looked ok in the NAB cup but as soon as the season started, he looked like he had concrete shoes on. Slow, lethargic, not even interested in looking for the ball. So Horse made him the sub against the Saints which seemed to give him the boost he needed. Played a 1/4 against the Saints and looked like he was back to his best until shin soreness put him out for 12 weeks. Came back and played one game in the NEAFL before wearing the green in the first 2 finals games. He should be priced nicely next year at the start (around $330k) and should keep his DPP as well, so its very tempting to start him in fantasy. But buyer beware as he is not a consistent scorer when it comes to any fantasy league. A definite starter in any XV comp but I cant see anyone grabbing him at the start of the season in DT, SC, etc.

Tabs says: After having such a great year in 2012, AJ was struck down on the eve of the 2013 season suffering an ACL injury that would put him out for the year. To add insult to the injury, the ACL reconstruction failed  3 months later and he went in for more surgery. It doesn't look good for AJ next year for the first couple of months but hopefully he can at least get back running and then spend some time in the 2s in 2014. Will he play in the 1s in 2014? I don't think he will, to be honest. Even if he did come back and play in the 1s, AJ is not a fantasy relevant player. If you have to start him in your XV league, then you are in trouble.

Tabs says: Well down on the 2012, as he only had 7 scores above 100 in DT and 13 in SC. He went big a couple of time in SC but still down on the previous year. He faired much better in Sportal with 6 scores above 160 but still had a couple of games below 100. He seems not too worried to get the tag and doesn't try and lose it, just plays his normal game. The Swans players go out there to do their role and do their role well. If they get tagged out of the game then someone else in the engine room will come along and pick up the slack. He's a no for me in DT and SC but you can definitely start him in XV teams just maybe not as captain every week. Regarding SB, CB and Sportal, they are some great numbers especially in Sportal, but it will depend on how much he costs in these comps. Hopefully he comes in at around $500k in CB and Sportal and about $400k in SB and then it would be worth to get him

Tabs says: When news hit that Laidler would join the Swans there were plenty of people asking the question why? That was until we saw the stats. He is the same heigh and (almost) the same weight as the retiring Mattner, only 7 years younger. But im sure pre-season training can help Laidler get down to Mattner's playing weight. Another interesting fact between the 2 is that their birthdays are a day apart (this is getting scary). I dont know if Laidler is a walk up starter at the Swans though at the moment. Rampe, who was outstanding last year along with Teddles, Grundy, Shaw, AJ, Smith, McVeigh and Malceski are all in front of him in the depth chart and with the likes of LRT coming back from injury and Lockyer and Marsh coming through the reserves, he will have his work cut out for him to try and break into the 1s. I do see Laidler playing a couple of games this year but not many, so not only isnt he fantasy relevant but you cant afford to have him in your XV leagues either.

Got better as the year went on and my guess is that he was in front of Brown, hence why Lockyer stayed and Brown was delisted. With the addition of Laidler, Lockyer goes down one spot on the depth chart, but is seen as a replacement player for the likes of Richards, Grundy and LRT in the future. I guess the big question is will Lockyer give up his number 23 for Buddy or not??

Tabs says: Took a step into the midfield this year which he seemed to excel at, especially after looking like he was on the outer last year. I don't believe he will get DPP but still his numbers should improve slightly. Has signed on for 1 year at the moment till the end of 2014 and he will be only chasing 1 year deals from here. IMO if 2014 isn't his last year then 2015 might be. Even if he does get DPP I still don't see his numbers improving dramatically, so it a no to me in all forms of fantasy even if he is cheap. He can be considered as a starter in XV comps but you wouldn't want him to be higher than a D3. He also provides hope for Menzel after Malceski has successfully come back to play AFL after 3 knee ops in 2004, 2007 and 2011.

Tabs says: Selected with pick #44 of the 2012 National Draft, Marsh was picked as a good inside mid player with plenty of run. Although he has shared his time in the 2s everywhere. Most of the time Marsh plays off the half-back flank as a rebounding back or in the engine room, but due to a couple of injuries he also spent some time in the forward line. A hamstring injury ended his season early and he wasn't seen in the 2s after R16. The Swans see a big future for Marsh and he could be a decent fantasy player done the track. However I don't think he will break into the 1s in 2014 with out a lot of injuries. He will have to wait for the likes of Eski and Macca to retire before he gets a look in. He may end up being a future DPP as well, although not for long as he will most liekly just become a midfielder.

Tabs says: Spent most of his time in the engine room, on the HFF or as a rebounding HB flanker. If Sam Mitchell gets DPP then Macca will as well, but don't hold your breath. Only had 8 scores above 100 but 17 above 90 in DT. I don't see his DT scores improving but rather they will stay the same. If you select him in DT then it's as a back if he gets DPP, otherwise he is a no. In SC, he scored a little better with 10 above 100 but only 16 above 90. Like DT if you select him its only in the backs. Would I select Macca in any fantasy team, no. His DPP makes him more attractive to fantasy coaches but buyer beware. If you watch him play every time there is a contest he runs behind the play for the easy HB out, so he is a bit of a slut that way. Teams will eventually cotton on to what he does and will try and stifle his easy ball. His uncontested possessions are 2:1 to his contested possessions and his effective disposal is at 75% which is ok, but his scores are always lower when the tag is applied to him. But like all Swans, they don't let the tag worry then as there is someone else to pick up the slack. He is definite starter in XV leagues and if he gets DPP will make teams with him in much stronger in the backs.

Tabs says: Now with the addition of Buddy to the forward line of the Swans, Membrey takes a step back on the depth chart. I see Memebrey as more of a replacement for Goodes when he hangs up the boots. At the moment BJack, Rohan, Walsh and McGlynn are ahead of him but he was listed a couple of times as an emergency for the 1s. Tabs says: Started the season on fire in the 2s with 2 games of over 50 disposals and 10 tackles before getting his start in the 1s. But it really depends on where they want to play Titch in 2014. He started in the mids in the 1s and scored well but moved to the HFF in later games and his scores suffered. His SC scores suffer from a result of poor effective disposals. If he plays in the mids all of the time then he can average about 100 in DT and SC, but if he moves forward, his scores will take a dive. A definite starter in XV leagues and was an absolute gun in all fantasy leagues last year making owners between $270 to $320k, but sadly not expecting many teams to take a chance on him this year. He has shown no sign of the knee or foot injuries until the semi final against Carlton when he only lasted just over a 1/4. looking forward to see Titch, Rohan, Jetta at full fitness next year tearing teams apart with their run.

Tabs says: A combination of a thumb and knee injury kept Sam out for most of this year and kept him to just 3 games in the NEAFL this year. He is essential to the Swans in 2014 as currently Pyke and Sam are the only official rucks in the team. The Swans have gone for a more mobile team with the new interchange cap coming in. Im sure the likes of LRT, Tippett and maybe even Goodes (hopefully not) will help out Pyke at the start of the season, but if Pyke goes down then Sam is the man for the Swans and will be a nice money earner as a downgrade target. The Swans may invest in some ruck talent in either draft as well. If you have Naismith in your XV team, keep him as he is a future player and might get a game this year if injury ravage the Swans again.
