At another forum I use they have a "forced listening" thread were you post a track, then the next person gives some brief thoughts on that track before posting one of their own. Might be an idea for another thread rather than this one but it could be a bit of fun.
I love the idea. I guess the only problem is that there's no guarantee somebody will actually listen to the track and won't just slam it for no good reason. I can especially see this becoming a problem on this forum because so many people here are quick to judge, especially with music.

True. I'm not sure how I'd react if someone posted a track by Michael Bolton, Ronan Keating, One Direction or Rob Thomas. (Cough, Nigey, cough cough  :P)
:o Leave Michael Bolton and Rob Thomas alone!  >:(
Best Michael Bolton song...

In Utero - Nirvana

I was listening to "Serve The Servants" yesterday. Such a great song.

Dw, just think Lonerism and Yeezus in your Further exam. Will ace it.

Probably will. It's like mental association or some shiz from all the times I've studied with those albums playing :P

Love's Crushing Diamond - Mutual Benefit

Perhaps the greatest indie record I have stumbled across this year. Defined by a distinct vocal style reminiscent of Trevor Powers, and a divine strings performance that will stun anyone who is instrumentally inclined. Suggest to those who enjoyed Big Scary and GY!BE last week.

Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett - Venetian Snares

Venetian Snares is this crazy Canadian dude by the name of Aaron Funk. His music is usually described as break core or glitch core - essentially the heavy metal of the electronic music world. Aaron has released over 20 albums in the last 15 years and continues to make music that I find both fascinating and oppressive in equal parts. This particular album saw him matching classical violin to his relentless beats and the results were eye opening.

Yeezus - Kanye West

Track Provided: Black Skinhead

Genre: Hip hop - it incorporates industrial music, trap music, avant-garde, punk rock and new wave.

It's been described as much different and a lot darker than Kanye's previous stuff. It's got some industrial sounds and it's a pretty good album all-round which had barely an promotion at all and lacks a radio-friendly single. 'Black Skinhead', 'New Slaves' and 'Bound 2' are the stand-out tracks for mine.
