Deplorable could probably be seen as an understatement. Woeful.

Watching it at the moment, we are just not tighening up the defense and letting so many link ups through.

maybe we should now pick an all-indigenous team for the Ashes  :o

In the end it's Ireland's best 22 players vs. guys like Tony Armstrong and Alwyn Davey. Can't really expect much from guys who have barely proved to be good enough at AFL level

Vinny

Yeah that's true, we would have been super competitive if we had our best team on the park. 2005 is a good example of that. Still quite a shower performance from the boys :-\

Holz

Ireland took it serious and simply Australia didnt. the crowed was going off, even cheering points.

The problem with this series has never been the Irish, they always bring a strong team and the crwoed supports it. The irish players relish the oppurtunity to reprent their country. Consdering AFL is one of the few high profile sports that you cant represent your team i would have hoped the best of the best would want to play.

the issue is its all about the money and people dont want to risk injury.

on that note

Ricochet

We had some guys playing that wouldn't even get in the best 22 in most top 8 sides. It's embarrassing really, wish we had taken it a bit more seriously.

While there is a fairly large underlying idea of racism in all the media reporting, O'Loughlin really couldn't expect anything more from the team.

Interesting read this.

im not suprised you bring guys who are fringe 22 players and no wonder they dont peform. They do the same thing in the AFL.

isnt the fact that non indeginous players wernt allowed to play in it self rascist though?

it wasnt Ireland v Australia

it was Ireland v a small portion of Australia.
