Marsh's technique is laughable... Doolan is the best number 6 for us, going by your logic there would be no-one at all who can play outside those who are in the teams at the moment

Jay

Steve Smith should be our no. 6 imo

Laughable? His technique is so sound, coming from a cricketer myself, I play most weekends, and just watching him you know he's a gun. Doolan might be, but I don't think he is a pure number 6
I'm not saying that mate, I'm just saying having too many openers and just sticking them at number 6 is not the answer, I've seen it all before at state representative level, there was a team full of gun bats but at club level they were all openers, and because of that they were all played out of position and got skittled for 100-150 all week

Jayman, I do think you're right, Smith seems a very good number 6, Clarke down to 5, Watson to 4, and stick Marsh at 3
Clarke scored all his double hundreds and triple hundreds at 5 I just think he generates the most runs at that number and it saves Watson from coming in too early.

Marsh has no form to warrant his selection though. regardless of what type of flowering batsman he is. gosh.

Looking good in the ODI's so far mate. Two half centuries including a 71* could only do wonders for his confidence.

Youre telling me that a shield average of 31 is enough? Regardless of ODI's? This is Test. Steyn and co. will flower him up big time.

Marsh has something like 8 FI centuries from 13 years of state cricket. Tell me how that career warrants selection. He can have the best technique in the world but his record is poor. By no means does he deserve to be in the test squad.

Jay

Rogers, Warner, Hughes, Watson, Clarke and Smith should be our top 6.

I do prefer Doolan to Marsh though... Mainly because he scored a 180 I believe against Saffa in a tour match, so should probably get a chance.

Scrads

Yeah Shaun Marsh is going to be the next George Bailey.

He was George Bailey before there was a George Bailey.

Had a past of showing promise. Marsh averages 27 in tests

CrowsFan

That average would be pretty good if he was a bowler! :P
