Master Q

Cic I think what most people are trying to say is that England may be leading 7-6 or whatever for the year, but by the looks of it Australia are going into Boxing Day like they are unbeatable, and there is still the Sydney test + the ODI, so the chances that England come out on top all together are very slim.

If that is what you are still talking about  :P It's from a few pages back

awww yes, Scott Borthwick. Durham leg spinner, 23 years old. Averages 31 in FC cricket from 59 matches. THis season he too 28 wickets @ 38, going at 3.99 per over. Decent figures, still would rather them have taken Rashid. Still, glad to see they are rewarding FC success, as Borthwick played with Stokes in the Champioship winning team. :) And he did play every game, so clearly the frontline spinner for Durham.
Sarcasm?
Where? I was just stating what there is to know about Scott Borthwick.

Well his stats look very very ordinary for an international cricket player

Perhaps, but at least he's had first class experience. How many spinners have Australia played since Warne? There's alot, and most came off very little first class experience, including Lyon.

I've tried to stay out of this, but cic just shut the flower up about Bailey. You're saying every single player in domestic cricket is better than him is the stupidist thing I have ever read. Yes you may not like him, and clearly you don't think Australia is going the right way about selecting players, but that doesn't make Bailey a shower player. His ODI career proves he is by no means shower.

You are the most negative person about any team you supposedly "support". You complain that Australia aren't giving the young players a go, and then when they select Agar you complain about that too. Makes no sense.

I will admit I do agree with some of your views on things, but other things are totally whack. Why can't you just be happy that Australia is having a little bit of success at the moment? Rather than just say we will be destroyed by Safrica? Could well be the case that they tear us apart, but for now just be happy that Australia has won the Ashes!

Cicjose

there are 50 players who have scored more than he has in the last 3 years and can field all better than he can

Australians only care about the Ashes

they need to be destroyed by South Africa or disband the first class system

no point having the first class system if players wont ever get picked on performance but experience instead

This has elements of truth to it. But there is no doubting bailey has ability. He earnt his spot as others before him have had their chances and wasted them ie hughes khwaja quiney.

I have more of an issue with the selections at state level. WA selectors are absolutely disgraceful and do not reward on performance.

Also agree that SOuth Africa would beat us though. They are easily the best side in the world atm. But we beat england. You can only beat who you play, so let the Australians be happy and celebrate it. It has been a while since ashes success. We are allowed to enjoy it.

Australia could win 100 tests in a row and cic would still be whinging about it
