well since you all think that the only test cricket is Australia v England you all have a superiority complex and i cant wait for South Africa destroy this crap Australian side in March

we've destroyed one South African side this summer, no reason why we can't destroy another

jumping the gun just a bit, 3 tests ago this team was a bad joke, just because we've beaten up on a badly fading rabble of an england team at home doesn't suddenly make us world beaters - lots of cracks in the aussie team that have been papered over

Yeah I know haha, just a bit of banter.

The Australian side honestly isn't that good. I personally think we might struggle against the Saffas, they have a very good side all over, hard to find a weakness and lots of depth. But nobody gave us a chance this Ashes Series - with Boof at the helm who knows what'll happen.

Yeah let's not celebrate winning the Ashes, let's all focus on the negatives. Yeah right! Bring on Boxing Day ;D

South African spinners are licking their chops today after Swann's retirement!
Why did no one else take notice of this?!?!?  :P
South Africa doesn't have spinners.  :P

They have one obvious weakness, but it'll be pretty hard to exploit over there, and the Aussies aren't that much better in the same department. ;)

me

yeah lack of a frontline spinner only thing lacking from south africa

i really think they should play an 8th batsman who can also bowl part time spin and just use JP and said person as a spinner ... JP did better than tahir here anyway

Interesting that they have called in 2 spinners in Treadwell and Borthwick so is Monty safe??

I was trying to post this but my internet is being stupid.

Yeah, I'd say Monty will play.

Borthwick will be available for Boxing Day, while Tredwell will be for the 5th test.

Scott Borthwick, Gary Ballance and Jonny Bairstow need to play if England are going to win the Boxing Day test

awww yes, Scott Borthwick. Durham leg spinner, 23 years old. Averages 31 in FC cricket from 59 matches. THis season he too 28 wickets @ 38, going at 3.99 per over. Decent figures, still would rather them have taken Rashid. Still, glad to see they are rewarding FC success, as Borthwick played with Stokes in the Champioship winning team. :) And he did play every game, so clearly the frontline spinner for Durham.

not like Prior has done enough to keep his spot... in fact Prior's been very very bad and his career should be over

me

most team's happy to hear that ! prior has been a thorn in the side of many a team, so will be good from opposition point of view if england dump him !
