Comment on cricinfo sums it up perfectly for me

I find it difficult to understand why Watson is being dismissed in Tests so cheaply and so lamely, so consistently," laments Mal. "Surely, surely, surely he should be back to being dismissed cheaply and lamely in Shield cricket, and someone with some fight and some mental strength should come into the Test side."

How many runs has K-Waj scored in the shield so far this season?

Should have just kept Swann

had him for the first 7 tests and when he finally starts doing something for once in 5 tests is the only one I drop him for ::)

Knew I should have held onto him.

He's a flowering spastic. How he ever got in the side before Hughes or Doolan is just a joke.

Guys, got a question.

Is a fit, in form Jackson Bird not one of the Australian cricket team's best bowlers?

Who's in front?

Sidds, Rhyno, Patto... maybe MJ.

Just to share my side of the argument. I think Bird is pretty good but just not up to Australian team standards. Mitch Johnson and Rhino Harris are basically locks in the test team right now then there's workhorse Peter Siddle that I cant see losing his place for a while. The following guys have potential, James Pattinson, Mitch Starc, Pat Cummins and have all played test cricket before then in Shield, guys like Chadd Sayers have been taking many wickets. Just not sure where Bird fits into our fast bowling lineup presuming he gets back to full fitness. If everyone is fully fit, I have Bird around 8-9 in our quickies ranks...

Bird has only played 3 matches... Don't blow your load over him yet

He has 13 wickets in 6 innings. While solid, it's nothing to write home about. Mitch J/Harris/Siddle pretty much all match that or better it over a long career. Therefore more impressive maintaining a wickets:innings ratio over 100 innings as opposed to 6.

Sidds, Rhyno, Patto, MJ all better easy.

Hilfenhaus could be.
