Smith's worth sticking with, have him bowling in the nets! Let him play, like they didn't with Hughes and Khawaja for long enough! Bailey is really only a gap player, there till a real test cricketer shines well enough, Rogers too though!

Mailman the 2nd

Bailey > Smith any day of the week.

Smith barely counts as a bowler so there's no real versatility there and Bailey much more competent batter for pitches like in Perth

Mailman the 2nd

In fact Smith was by far the worst Australian this test.....

Smith has matured a fair bit and maybe doesn't practice bowling enough? Deserved a go though, as I said Bailey is just a fill in

Hughes scores his third ton in three shield matches, no doubt in my mind the selectors got it slightly wrong by leaving Hughes out!

Should we drop Lyon for this one Perth Test? Another quick gets a go? Not sure on who though is there anyone else fit? ???

BB67th

Same 12 man squad for the Perth test so Faulkner is in it and could possibly play as a fourth quick. Bollinger and Coulter-Nile are also on standby in case someone doesn't get up for it.

The pitch will decide whether the spinner plays or not. I think he probably won't, we've had some good success with 4 quicks in Perth in recent times.

will be unchanged again 100% guaranteed

there is no way australia will change this team at the moment (barring injury of course)

Steven Smith has averaged 41.5 in his last 5 tests...

I see no reason to drop him. Was one of our best batters in England (IMO) with 2 half centuries and an unbeaten ton.
