Carberry drops an absolute sitter
reckon he's got some problems, whether it's mental or in his technique, looked like he took the Warner catch awkwardly as well

No way. He's arguably one of the best fielders in the England team.

maybe it's a mental thing then, just looks to shower himself when it comes to him in the air.  :-[

Big first session tomorrow, Clarkey needs to get the 100 now, Johnson is pretty much an all rounder when his confidence is up and it should be sky high at the moment.  8)

Scheduled stumps was 6:09pm, that's why. :)

From the moment I walked into the ground (9:50am) and saw Panesar warming up, I knew this was going to be a terrible and very painful day.

One of the worst drops i have ever seen in test cricket. Could be pretty costly too.

It was a very bad drop. The second attempt really should have been taken as well, he panicked on it.

England's fielding was really sloppy in that last session, something like 3 dropped chances?

PowerBug

Panesar, Root, Carberry all dropped catches. :(

match is so evenly poised, if Clarke goes on with it, as i suspect he will (please don't jinx him!), Australia should be able to still build 400, remember it's their tail that usually does most of the scoring anyway

at 1/150 with 2 set batsman on that pitch tho (unforgivably soft dismissals by our top order again!), anything less than 500 would be a disappointment in that context, although could be much worse if england had taken all their chances

so... see what happens today i guess

Id give yesterday to the Poms, 5 wickets on that deck was a good effort on a happier note the ground and surroundings look superb. Will be brilliant for watching the footy aswell. ;)

Looks like the pitch isn't doing much for the quicks at all, so don't expect anything major from Harris or Siddle once hte shine wears off the ball. It will be interesting to see how much bounce Johnson can get and whether that will worrry the Poms.

The pitch seems to be turning though, so Nathan Lyon  should come into things and will hopefully perform well.

If you look at the Australian wickets that fell, only Rogers was done by a good ball that turned a mile. Smith had no footwork and should have kept that ball out, he was just trying to survive until tea. The others all got out playing shots though, if you could call what Watson did a shot. It will be interesting to see if England have the patience to not play rash shots and build a total.

While we wait for the cricket to start. Let's indulge in a little Fear of a Brown Planet.  ;D

if australia push on to a big 400+ score, i'm anticipating an england collapse when australia bowl, i don't think the pitch is that good for batting, was looking like it was hard to time the ball at times yesterday, so won't be easy batting in england's position if australia have runs on the board and given england's unsettled lineup and current position in the series
