Is there anything in it for us?

Like tickets to the cricket is very small compensation for having to meet you in real life Grazz

Sorry, just being a realist mate ;)

"There are, in theory, three men in contention for the No. 6 position: Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes and Gary Ballance. It appears likely that Ballance is in pole position at present though, if Panesar is included as a bowler, it is possible Stokes' all-round skills will win him a place. With Matt Prior in a slump with the bat, however, and Ballance having impressed most in Alice Springs, it is his role as a specialist batsman that England are likely to favour."

Now watch them go play Bairstow. ::)

Not long now, please play Ballance, please play Ballance.

"Bell has become the latest player to be struck in the nets by a ball thrown by Graham Gooch's 'dog thrower' device but, after treatment on his shoulder, he has been cleared to play. It seems likely that his desire to bat at No. 3 will be denied, though, with Joe Root more likely to be promoted.

It is not an ideal solution. Not only has Root struggled to convince against the harder, newer ball to date in his Test career - he was undone by bounce in both innings in Alice Springs - it will also mean that two of England's top three have much to prove at the top of the order."

Idea. ECB, play Ballance at 3, it'll be the greatest decision you'll ever make.

Watson apparently ready for bowling means that it is very unlikely Faulkner will come in for Bailey :(

Mailman the 2nd

Bailey isn't going anywhere, Michael Hussey scored less runs in his first test than George did

I hear it's scheduled to rain 3 of the 5 days of the match.  >:( :(

Weren't people complaining about how it was raining in England?  ???

Toga

Adelaide weather has been all over the place, raining & thunderstorms for ten minutes then blue skies the next... Fingers crossed we'll be ok for tomorrow!

WillyWeather which I use for boating/fishing and is generally pretty accurate suggests there is a 85% chance of a few morning showers on Thursday, 0% chance for Friday, 0% chance for Saturday and a 15% chance of a shower on Sunday. Nothing up there for Monday yet so you could be right mate. Hopefully it doesn't affect any result and it doesn't drift into a draw because of the rain. A draw for us wouldn't be that bad a result really.

I'd love to see a quality 5 day test, so if the rain could stay away completely, that'd be great.  :P
