Good to see that batsmen are doing better so far this Shield season compared to last year. Already this season there has been hundreds to North, Smith, Rogers, Warner, Hughes, Cooper, Doolan, Klinger, Silk and Forrest.

Half of those are either in the test team now or should be one day soon, so at least the batting is looking a little up.

Also, I think Jordan Silk is going to be a very good opener. In a few years time I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Warner at the top of the card.

Nah no way. Confident, not arrogant. There is a definite difference.

Yeah BB, loving all the hundreds, however I can never help but noticing the amount of Strike Rates that are under 40! I've been noticing Marcus North's scores, despite being good run tallies, are taking forever to actually get achieved, and I'm wondering whether he's actually hindering the team by batting so slow.

Silk's ton was also scored quite slowly, and Rogers during his 88 in the first round, was 10 off 79 balls at one stage and the Vics were like 2/52 at lunch on Day 1.

I think that is a great sign actually PB. Patient batsmen is exactly what we need right now. Too often we have seen the test team collapse because people get out playing rash shots and they don't know how to bunker down and play a long innnings.

12th man hasn't been named yet but i would say it would be Faulkner.

Depends if they want to go an all out pace attack... I wouldnt do it. Lyon actually has surprisingly good figures at the Gabba.
