I was feeling pretty annoyed that the test starts on Thursday and I have exams on in the morning. Then I realised it's the Perth test, so it doesn't start until 1 over here, so I still get to watch it all!!!

I think I was getting a bit too ahead of myself here.....

Oh well, at least I get the half an hour time delay.....



On another note, a big 235* from Adam Voges got WA out of trouble today. It's great to see state batsmen and spinners performing strongly this season, these are real test quality pitches. Only problem is Shield games are still 4 day so we are getting a lot of draws where we could have 5th day results.

CA have talked about making Shield games 5 days and I think this would be a great thing to do. Make the Big Bash shorter and have a longer Shield period with longer games. Hopefully this comes in in the next season or two.

Also the 2nd XI state competition which has been the Futures League with Age Restrictions has returned to just being the 2nd XI Competition with all the age restrictions removed. I think it's a great result as that competition will also now be better quality.

Things looking up in the National Competition, I'm liking where it's all going.
