lol just saw ballance is born in Zimbabwe - good one england :P

Think you have to be born outside England to actually be eligible to make the team these days so no real surprise.

high expectations for what would be a debutant on an overseas tour to australia!
That is how heroes are made. ;) This guy is class, trust me.

yeah i don't doubt it, i haven't seen him play, but his first class record is impressive

however, how much has he played in australia? where the conditions are very different from england, and also you'd have to agree it's still a massive ask to bring him in on debut into the ashes cauldron in australia where england are under the cosh at the moment

Wow... this thread escalted quickly..

To be fair, i think Lyon is getting better. To begin with he wasnt great. But he is on the improve. He is the best spinner we hve at the moment and did well this test.

Now we know why Clarke fired up with Anderson threatning to punch Bailey in the face haha. Knew there would be a reason for Clarkey to get so fired up and deservedly so.

well there it is, I already knew that Australia weren't the ones to start it, could tell by Clarke's reaction, but there's some confirmation. where did ya read that mate?

did Anderson get fined? aaaaahhh of course not! they are playing the bully team in Australia of course, they couldn't be the bad guys! obviously the only reason Clarke got fined was because the stump mics picked it up, but so they must be saying the umpires couldn't hear Softcock Anderson's threats to Bailey.

something doesn't smell right.

Warney heard it on stump mics, but Anderson didnt get in trouble cos his wasnt on live ::)

really annoying isn't it. they have made it look like Clarke was at fault, when this dogy little flower that probably called his mummy after the game in fear said he would punch Bailey in the face.

now let's look at the separate threats shall we;
dog Anderson threatens to punch Bailey. a threat that would involve dog Anderson throwing a fist on the field of cricket.
Clarke threatens to break dog Anderson's arm. a threat that could involve a legal cricketing delivery to make impact on his girly little arm and break it.

now i'm not stupid, I know he didn't mean it like that, but how can you prove it? there's only one way to take dog Anderson's threat, but there are multiple ways of taking Clarke's threat.

great work Michael Clarke. you stick up for Australia and your mates you champion.

me

anyone who knows anything about cricket knows that jimmy anderson is a huge sledger and needs to take what he gives, clarke was clearly responding to something that was going on between anderson and bailey ... it wasn't a big deal anyway, part of the game, just a bunch of precious self righteous pretentious flogs jumping up and down about nothing at all

give him a broken arm in adelaide!

I wonder if England won the test match if Clarke would of been fined.. I doubt it.. #hacks
