Australia have ruined "the gentleman's game"

just on this, how would you explain Jimmy ''Softcock'' Anderson's actions when giving Michael Clarke a single on the last ball of his over so that next over the could face Broad's bouncers? is that the act of a gentleman? or a slap in the face to the captain of the opposition?

and you know what happened? Broad did indeed bowl bouncers. and you know what else happened? Clarke dispatched him to the boundary, twice.

that is test match cricket, and that is why I love the game.

some of the things i read would suggest Australia are the first team in the history of cricket to bowl bouncers and sledge the opposition

so very very precious

A big flowering +1 to that sir! :P

And re: Clarkey's fine I'm sure he would've gotten away with it if it wasn't caught on mic. Doubt it has much of an effect on his wallet though :P

Yeah Clarkey is loaded I believe, pretty sure he bought Bingles mum or something an Aston Martin couple years back. :o

It happens all the time, just the fact that it was caught on national television I think, haha. :P
I stopped reading after that, and was so confused  ::)

If any English supporters are having a cry over Clarke's sledging, they can get stuffed. They can dish it out but obviously can't take it.

And come on, don't act like this "stress related illness" is a world ending crisis, it's cricket. Banter comes with it. Sorry Nige.
Life and one's health comes before the game and banter.

If you can't understand something as simple as that, you're a lost cause.

Dont hate on us cos we breed our internationals tougher.

Save it for the bogan bars man, don't try pretend that you know or understand a persons mental state! Mental illness is a very serious issue, or don't they speak this in your sheltered community?

Torpedo10

People have different health requirements, it's not necessarily a case of bred tougher and in this instance I honestly don't think it is.

I'm not 'hating' on anyone.

And it's got nothing to do with people being 'bred tougher'. Health issues and the like are a part of life, they can happen to anyone at any time. You could be struck down with a life threatening disease tomorrow for all we know.

Presumably, from the way you're carrying on - you, your family and loves ones are and have always been in the pink of health and never had any issues because you were born and bred immaculate.

Vinny

Hi Hater,

What you doing? I know that you're hating on me, the more that ya hate on me. The more that I keep doing my thing.

All this just shows me the edge that the Aussies have this series! Clarke was fired up becaus he knows his side can win and Trott although in unfortunate circumstances is clearly unable to cope with the stresses of test cricket. Has Australia's domination influenced this? Maybe but we can't comment a man's mental state. Good on him for stepping aside now to get his health right imo.

Let's just bring on the 2nd test!

Vinny

Hey Nige,

Why do you go for England, not saying you can't by the way, haha.

Thought I read somewhere that you are from an Indian background but born in Australia.

Justin Bieber

Alrighty fellas, calm down about the issues.

Most cricketers sledge, Clarke was just caught with it so was fined. Tough luck there.

On the Trott matter, think the comments earlier were made without knowing the full story, doubt we will ever know the full story. Mental-illnesses are nothing to make fun out of, and can affect anybody (I have been, as I'm sure some of you guys have had as well), so don't go making fun out of Trott for it. Ashes is a big deal so he wouldn't leave to go home unless it was really that bad for him (doubt it's just cricket and the loss that's affecting him, he's a cricketer, he should be use to losses and whatnot), so please avoid attacking/abusing him for being "weak" or anything for his decision :).

Wow! Finally something tbag and I can agree on!!

Seriously JB it's poor form giving shower to a bloke who is suffering due to mental health. If he had a broken leg and pulled out of the series would you say he is soft? No you wouldn't, you would say he is doing the right thing. It's the same with mental health. Don't go saying we breed them tougher, because that has nothing to do with mental health. 20% of Australians suffer from mental illness every year so give it a rest mate.

I'm actually impressed he has been able to come out and admit that he is having issues. Takes a brave man to do that as he would know there are dicks like you who will say he is weak. It's the opposite in fact, by coming out and saying he has a problem is far tougher to do than hide it away. Robert Enke was a German footballer and their first choice goal keeper when he committed suicide after suffering with depression. Nobody knew he had depression because he felt he couldn't come out and say anything about it with fear of being ridiculed by little people like you.

In short... grow up JB and stop being a dick
