Bails kept his spot because CA are pricks and want to beat England in a whitewash with the same 11 :P
Pretty much.

On a side note, Reddit's 5th test match thread is hilarious.  ;D

As I post this, Rankin's going off.

Should have played Tim Bresnan, ECB.  ::)

Ballance once bowled 12 overs in an innings, more than any other Yorkshire bowler. :P However the opposition scored about 350 in 50 overs haha. No he doesn't bowl, and I hope it doesn't get to the point where he needs to bowl. :P

I'm nervous now.
Rankin off injured. Ballance to bowl a few? :P

Bailey proves once again that he is an awful test cricketer. This will be his last test. Here's hoping a guy with 24 first class tons can get his spot back... He burst onto the scene against South Africa and he'll show this time around that he is a much improved player ;)

You want Hughes to play vs South Africa? He'll get Quiney'd.  :o :-\

Anyone rate this spinner?
Smith sure doesn't :)

He hardly spins the ball, bowled a few too short, seen at least 2 full tosses IIRC. Could just be early nerves, we'll see if he gets any better I guess as the test goes on.

The same Phil Hughes that carted the South Africans when he was last there?

Would help if he was a bowler... :-\ He's a Steve Smith in Durham, a batter that bowls a bit.

The Phil Hughes that made a ton on debut against the best bowling attack in the world ;)

Talk about critical.

Probably just nerves.

This is what? His first spell? Let him settle and he should be fine.

The Poms haven't played a leggy in over a decade, they must seriously rate this lad to pick him over the more experienced Tredwell (who I reckon they're better off without).

Hughes is gooooone. CA have a vendetta against the bloke.

Borthwick bats at 3 for Durham. Stokes and Collingwood bat at 5 and 6 in the same side.... He was the leading run scorer for them in the Championship last season (Ballance topped the league for runs)
