"I would swap Selwood for Bartel because with Ablett gone Selwood will probably get the No.1 tagger each week. I don't think Chapman will be as good this year, go with Buddy or N. Riewoldt. Being a Hawks fan I've seen plenty of Rioli and he is so up and down, sometimes I don't even realise he's on the field. Too risky for my mind. Maybe upgarde to Pav or a good cheaper option might be Mitch Morton. Aside from that it's a really solid team."

Selwood had a career best DT average and outscored Bartel easily.
Chapman's average dropped by 11 points but he still did better than Buddy (just) and NRoo
Rioli averaged 86 compared to Pav's 94
Morton played 9 games and averaged 53

Not great advice in retrospect but at least it wasn't a post pleading for help in RMDT. :P

Regarding which defender to upgrade out of Dempsey, Marty Clarke, Eski, and Lake

"Eski or Clarke. Dempsey still has a fair bit of $ to make, Lake may very well be a keeper. I'm not fully sold on Clarke as a keeper, so maybe him then? I might be getting rid of him this week as well."

No idea what ended up being the best decision.
