Box Hill playing atm and the commentators are hyping up Woodward and Hallahan.

Also, just seen that a lad that was junior to me at Mazenod (where Woodward went as well) by the name of Aaron Bond is playing for Box Hill.

Team from Round 3:
Cheney Gibson Birchall
Suckling Spangher Burgoyne
Hill Mitchell Smith
Breust Roughead Rioli
Hale Gunston Puopolo
Ceglar Lewis Shiels
Simpkin Langford Duryea
SUB: Litherland

Whilst we managed to smash a depleted dockers line-up, this 22 is far from our best, after seeing some performances from the younger blokes in the first 3 rounds, this is my revised best 22:

Ceglar -> McEvoy
Litherland -> Hodge
Cheney -> Stratton
Duryea -> Lake

B: Burgoyne Lake Gibson
HB: Suckling Stratton Birchall
C: Hill Hodge Smith
HF: Breust Roughead Rioli
F: Hale Gunston Puopolo
R: McEvoy Lewis Mitchell
Int: Spangher Langford Shiels
Sub: Simpkin

Plenty of selection headaches, Shoenmakers - in the eyes of the coaches - may push out Spangher but I believe we could easily go either way, against the Dockers and last year in the final v Sydney, JC provided great support down back and I saw him on numerous occasions playing for Box Hill, move forward and provide another headache for the opposition defence. Could go either way.

Langford edges out Duryea for mine as he is more capable of playing a midfield tagging role, letting Shiels roam free, however, Duryea could easily be a huge part of the team moving forward, replacing the tough brand of footy in defence that Guerra has played for so long. Again, the selection could go either way.

Simpkin, I believe, is unlucky to be sub in this side, but an injury or resting players throughout the year should see him with a regular gig in the best 21, we will wait and see.

As we know, our depth is very good, so many players can come in and play different roles. Hallahan hasn't been sighted at AFL level yet but is very exciting, Litherland can play a role down back, Wanganeen and Woodward provide other options. A player that I have yet to mention is Jed Anderson, had an interrupted pre-season, however, could edge Langford out if he regains fitness, after going down with a shoulder injury I believe?

So, there it is, my best 22 heading forward in 2014, opinions and thoughts are welcome.

My updated best 22 assuming a 100% fit playing list.

FB: Duryea, Lake, Gibson

I avoided that on purpose. Because I have NFI :P

Sewell doesn't exactly strike me as an 'impact' player. It could be rotated around Shiels, Suckling and Duryea I guess. In the meantime there will always be someone from outside this 22 playing that we could make sub.

And I actually think Spangher is fairly close behind Schoey, so that spot could be form-dependant.

JBs-Hawks

Or form dependant.

If we play Sydney shoey plays with there power forwards.  Freo or Port spang could play.

Great minds think alike? :P

As you know I dislike the Hawks but, a guy I saw in the pre-season and really liked him, big Ceglar, struggled for an early game but watching him last Friday at the great Oval, he has a very bright future :)

Maybe wasn't in this seasons best 22 but lock him in for next

tor01doc

I don't think Tex would be in our best 22.

Who would he displace?

Roughy and Gunstan are in.

Ceglar / Hale for ruck back up.

Puopolo and Rioli for frontal pressure.

Breust, Smith, Hill, Shiels and rotating mids all needed for pace.

Maybe he could be kicking coach?

Don't be bluddy retarded  ::)

You didn't answer his question tbag, who would he replace? ;)

Mailman the 2nd

He'd replace Puopolo lol, a lot of players could replace him.

Maybe my hate is fairly unwarranted, but ever since I saw him cost Hawthorn that game against Geelong allowing Hawkins to kick after the siren with his stupid shot for goal I can never take him seriously

Mailman the 2nd

That said though, Hawthorn's forward trio is better than Tex, he wouldn't fit into them
