B: Shoenmakers, Lake, Stratton
HB: Birchall, Gibson, Burgoyne
C: Smith, Mitchell, Lewis
HF: Breust, Hale, Rioli
FF: Gunston, Roughead, Puopolo

Fol: McEvoy, Sewell, Hodge
I/C: Suckling, Shiels, Anderson, Hill

Emer: Hallahan, Duryea, Grimley

Thoughts?

I want all of Hallahan, Duryea and Grimley in our 22 but there is no one to squeeze out :(

As we know, players will miss games throughout the year for various reasons and these guys should definitely be getting games  throughout the year anyway :)

Don't forget my boy Alex Woodward after a big pre-season.  ;)

I think Woodward's target for the year should just be getting through some games at BH level to start off with, then go from there...

I totally agree haha. Gotta crawl before you can walk.

How about Tim O'Brien? What can you Hawks boys tell me about him. Thoughts on when he will start to play some games?

Split his time between the VFL and Vic Development League this year. He seems to be developing okay but I really wouldn't expect him to get a game in 2014 unless we had a couple of LTI's in the forward line. All going well I'd like to see him get 6-8 games in 2015.

Vinny

Oh okay, fair enough. Thanks mate!

Seemed like a long-term prospect.

specky92

Way too skinny, but in believe the hawks signed him for 2, so they obviously see something in the lad

Way too skinny

He was listed as 81kg when he was drafted and it doesn't look like that has been updated since. It wouldn't surprise me if he was around the 85/86kg mark these days. Still a fair way to go though.

Just sat down and tried to make a best 22, boy is it hard! :o

Here is my effort:

FB: Duryea, Lake, Gibson
HB: Stratton, Schoenmakers, Birchall
C: Hill, Mitchell, Smith
HF: Burgoyne, Hale, Rioli
FF: Gunston, Roughead, Breust
R: McEvoy, Lewis, Hodge
IC: Shiels, Puopolo, Suckling, Sewell

Next 8 players making up a 'playing 30' (in no particular order):

Spangher, Garlett, Hallahan, Anderson, Simpkin, Grimley, Ross, Ceglar

Injured: Whitecross (Knee)

The scary part is, that's still a young side.
In saying that though there are some stars on the way out.
Lake, Mitchell, Hodge, Burgoyne, Sewell all in their twilight but still a very good core group there to work with

JBs-Hawks

Will top up our stars with our Buddy money!
