Pick 23 means flower all imo, it's all about how Adelaide have gone drafting in the 20-30 ish pick range. Here is a short history

2011: Pick 27: Sam Kerridge
2009: Pick 29: Jack Gunston
2008: Pick 28: Shaun McKernan
2007: Pick 27 & 30: Andy Otten & Jarrhan Jacky
2006: Pick 32: Kurt Tippett
2005: Pick 32: Bernie Vince
2004: Pick 24 & 28: Nathan Van Berlo & Chad Gibson

I'd be pretty confident with that Pick 23 of yours

Pity the recruiter who picked these guys got the sack!
that's a real surprise, so yeah 2007 wasn't the best year, but to get a captain, 2 of the most highly rated forwards, a very decent midfielder and Kerridge who's showing a lot of promise (don't know much about mckernan) is a very decent effort considering none of these were top 20 picks. If you head over to the essendon board, I did a brief history of our picks 15-30 and we really knew how to screw up some 2nd round picks,  ::)

Well, considering we got a future All-Australian in Mitch Grigg @ pick 41... I have high hopes for pick 23! :D

Pretty sure he got the sack because he's a racist, not because of his poor selections.

He's not a racist and what he said was not racist, blown way our of preportion and slandered by Misfud

Mailman the 2nd

Yes apparently saying that you'd never draft an indigenous player can be "taken out of context" ::)

Roll your eyes and don't even know what was said ::)

Not what was said! So, so wrong!

He asked a question, know what that is?

"Are we going to get to a stage where we only draft an indigenous player with one white parent"

However, the context of the conversation was why the numbers of indigenous players drafted has been dropping, simply hindsight question discussing how it can be changed

Yeah, so racist ::)

Mailman the 2nd

"I swear I'm not racist, the Aborigines only need our help"

What i've heard, or maybe it's the way i've interpreted it, he is not a racist

You don't need to be a racist to say stupid things

PowerBug

I'm sorry, but look at all of the recruting the crows have done when he was there, how many Indigenous players were drafted? You could probably count them on one hand. Now I'm not assuming anything, but compared to the other teams the crows don't have many indigenous players.

whats that got to do with being labelled a racist? i think based on whats been shown it was a stupid comment that wasnt racist just taking out of a conversation and blown out of proportion

DazBurg

racist - no
a bit silly and naive - yes

why because in this day and age if your expendable and not too big of a fish to take down
in The AFL world being so professional if you anything but a robot your time is coming

i.e : all players/coaches/staff etc need to be careful as anything that can be turned into a story will be even if not intended to be taken that way

best thing is to keep quiet most of the time it seems
