I like the optimism. Reality is going to be painful.
It will certainly be painful for the next few years. The big picture looks brighter...a lot to be optimistic about.

Ah all good then. As mailman said he asked to be delisted since he wanted to find a new club where he would get chances, and thought the best way of doing that was to be picked up as a delisted free agent rather than organise a trade with a club.

You do realise that the B-grade at best talents of Newnes, Curren, Ross and all the others that are being talked up will be coming up against Bennell, Prestia, Swallow, Martin, O'Meara? Or Ward, Treloar, Whitfield, Shiel, Greene, Scully. They'll get crushed. Absolutely zero chance of challenging for a flag in 5 years time.

Jack Steven is a star and pick 3 should produce a gun, but the rest of the list lacks superstar talent.

Lol this is what I have been saying for a year now  ::) Seriously, I have said the exact same thing. St.Kilda a big chance for the 2014 spoon, a lock in 2015.

Carlton won't be far away from giving it a crack either :P

err... shower aye.. i guess err.. that's probably what i meant by short term pain Q. bottom out, rebuild faster. get some guns in this years draft, guns in the KPP draft next year, and the year after, the year after. i'm not gonna bag Carlton on a St Kilda board, but what i will say is St Kilda are closer to a shot at a premiership than Carlton are.

I'd say Melbourne are closer than St.Kilda

Steven and Pick 3

That is all you have going for you atm

they definitely are. didnt say they weren't.  what i'm saying is St Kilda are closer than Carlton.

yep serious Vin. Carlton's list isn't good enough for a premiership tilt, but also not bad enough to finish near the bottom.  a middle table side that will find it hard to bring in star kids.

that's all i'm saying on that because that isn't what this thread is for.

Vinny

It is far better than the Saints list mate. Saints list is pretty ordinary.. :-\

specky92

In 3 years I think we'll all be saying that the Saints have a much better list than Carlton and a lot of other teams. I really like what St.Kilda are doing, they've recognised that they aren't going to be in finals contention and so instead of just hovering around 14th they've decided to rebuild for another run at the flag
