HISTORY:

Michie played junior football for the Fitzroy Juniors and Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup. He showed his agility at the AFL pre-draft testing, finishing third in the agility run. Represented Victoria Metro in the 2010 NAB AFL U18 Championships, averaging 16 disposals and two goals per game. Fremantle selected Michie with pick 44 in the 2010 National Draft.

Viv Michie has been one of the unluckiest players at the Fremantle, struck down by consecutive serious foot injuries (stress fractures in his right foot) over the past two seasons.

The club obviously rated the young Victorian, giving him a contract extension until the end of 2013 in the hope he could recover from his injury and show the football world what he can do.

Melbourne traded pick 54 to bring Michie to the club for the 2014 season.



SUMMARY:

Highly rated youngster who has missed 2 seasons with a stress fracture of his right foot, played only the 1 game in 2013 and was traded to Melbourne.

With an average of 49 from 1 game he should get a decent discount and be valued around $180,000 ?. Costing around the same price as what a top 2 National Draft pick might be worth if he get's a good pre-season into him and shows some form in the Nab he might be a good pick ?

worth noting that that 49 was due to a green vest, coming on in Q2 (replaced Duffield, who had scored 51 up till that point) - scored 38 in the 2nd half

MAY be worth considering if he gets DPP and is reasonably priced

Yeah if he has a decent pre season and is named round 1 will probably be in my team, getting greater midfield opportunities at Melbourne.

Yeah, watch him over pre-season and see where he's at. Almost certainly a best 22 player, so if he's fit and named Round 1, he's definitely one to have.
