God I hope not lol. There is no way you can have warner and maxwell in the same test team. Maxwell should stick to the shorter formats, having him bat at 6 in a test team is disgusting lol and he's not good enough to be a pure bowler.

I refer back to this:

Really dislike him to be honest lol. Just strikes me as an arrogant flat track bully. How he ever made the test team is beyond me, and his batting performances there in India showed his true nature I believe. I guess he's ok in short form especially t20s but from how I see it his bowling is mediocre, and his batting is very hit and miss, and although he's good to come in at number 6 or whatever and smash it when the team's on top in a game, far too often he fails when the pressure is on.

I much prefer the likes of war horses Siddle, McKay and Harris who perform strongly and battle even when the team isn't going well, takes a lot more skill to do that imo.

I guess I can see the attraction in him, I'm a cricket purest though and the best form of cricket will always easily be tests.
Stick to the short stuff Glenn.

I don't understand the problem with this? Or are you saying they should play the t20s first because the bbl is on? Couldn't care less about the order myself lol

I think he's saying he would rather more ODIs and less T20s. I'm in that group too

What this guy said. I really don't like Maxwell at all.

Overrated spud imo who just tries to hit every thing too hard.

Now James Faulkner - there's a talent. Shame he got injured as I would have liked to have seen him get a chance at Test level.

Bailey out, Haddin up to 6 and Faulkner in at 7. He just seems to have the right temperament to play at the highest level.

specky92

I love his game but his offies would get destroyed and his batting seems a bit one paced from what I've seen for test cricket, stick to limited overs, he's a star, will be our best one day player for years to come.

tbagrocks

Overrated spud? :o

Bowls well, best fielder out, heart and soul and Xfactor of the team, bats well in first class cricket also

Overrated eh? Yeah right, spud he aint!

Mailman the 2nd

I don't think there are any people discussing him coming into test cricket. He's a fairly niche player and he's generally pretty good at what he does for limited overs cricket, there are always going to be games when the part-time/ all-round spinner gets smashed

Unfortunately the hate stems from when he did make a test appearance. Apparently some people can never move on.  :P

But yeah, he's a limited overs gun.  8)

Kellogscrunchynut

I reckon for now he should stick to short forms of the game and maybe with more maturity 2-3 years down the track he could come into the test side as a batting all-rounder.
