Murphy had his lowest averaging SC year since his 1st season in 2006.Was quite often tagged out of the games. Was also played in the forward line a bit.Copped a shoulder injury in round 12 with is another possible factor for his poor SC season.
Will be very under priced next season and we all know is capable of averaging 100+.

2014 Fan Planner Price $494,300

Tempting. Very Tempting. I cant trust him though after the season he put in. injured or not, the man cant handle a tag

ubeaut

Too many other better options. Can't handle a tag well enough yet. Judd is a bit past it so he will get first tag every time

ronl

Don't think the Malthouse game plan suits his style of play in which Mark Murphy is the centre of the universe.  That plus the fact that he is hopeless against a tag adds up to big fat NO.

Ricochet

Biggest lock for me. Will be back to his best in 2014. 2013 was riddled with hurdles - injuries, new coach, unsettled team... He will be back next year

specky92

Will be hard to ignore at under 500k, I'm not sure he can go 110-120 like he has previously but I'd expect 105-110 which is enough for that price IMO

sammy123

if he breaks a tag will be a very early upgrade target for me

but will he beak a tag? Until he does then no way. He SHOULD have been a bargain pick the past 2 years but he can't handle a tag.

Vinny

I really really really want to start him but the flowering tag. :(

Ricochet

The recruitment of Daisy will help with tagging. 90% of breaking a tag is help from your teammates. Adding another experienced big bodied midfielder who has played next to Pendles will certainly help give taggers headaches when they are trying to get to Marc.

Bill Manspeaker

i said i wasnt going near Murphy after the many painful weeks this year.... but here i am considering him... long way to go though

kilbluff1985

No chance to be in my team unless he shows he can break a tag

Started him in 2012

Really hope he has a better year though for the sake of my BXV team

meow meow

The return of Carrazzo and addition of Thomas into the mids should help, but he has looked meek for the past 2 years so it's a tough choice. Might be too hard to pass up being priced at 92 though.

elephants

Has been sitting in my SC midfield since it opened. I expect a very different Blues outfit next year. Don't underestimate the addition of Daisy and the return of Carrazzo and what that'll do to Marc's numbers.

jfitty

Very interested to see what people think of Murphy as the season draws closer.

In 2012, if you take out the game where he got injured vs Adelaide, he still averaged 117 for the season.

Last year wasn't a great year with tags, injuries and the captaincy all taking it's toll on him. It's just whether or not they will bother him this year?
