Harsh sure, but I have never seen a more underwhelming debut year from a melbourne top 30 draft pick than I have seen with that guy. Has absolutely no mongrel in him, highlighted by how he beats himself up after another bad performance (i.e. another game he plays), if he was ever serious about becoming a better player, he'd be like Jack Viney, take any sort of critiscm or a bad day at the office on the chin and get on with it.

Preach, Uncle Purple!  ;D

I think as well as the points cap, the trade voting system has to be changed too. Not sure about everyone else, but I'd rather the way AXV does it, by giving Ossie all the power to neg/accept trades if they are very unfair.

On this, I like the way Ringo does it in BXV.

He has all the power but if he thinks its too close to call or if he declines it, the trade is referred to the trades committee which is made up of three external coaches to the BXV.
Not a huge fan of that method. It's better than the current one, but I'd be concerned that the trade comittee would vote more in regards to just the talent included in the deal rather than the state of the 2 team's lists.

I just think the current method has to go, allows for too much strategy. Oss should have all the power. It works great in AXV.
Think you're under estimating the quality of the BXV trades committee :o
Me too :P

I like the British system a helluva lot.

It's pretty much flawless tbh, very very quick and efficient and we haven't had ANY issues with trades being passed or blocked at all I dont think?
The Ablett trade was a bit of controversy, but got sorted out pretty quick

Yep, even then it was sorted in a couple of days tops and everyone happily moved on.

Master Q

ele you missed my point.

Toumpas is a 19 year old in a 15 year old's body.

Ohhh ok, nothing a big pre-season or two won't fix ;)

Do they have magic potions that make you taller at Melbourne? Or only at Essendon?

Toumpas is taller than: GAJ, Sam Mitchell, Joel & Scott Selwood and is the same height as Swanny.

And Toumpas is only 19, the average adult male does not stop growing until the age of 25.

Give it up mate, only reason you're making this argument is because you're showerty your trade was negged ::)

What? This has nothing to do with that trade? I am a strong believer that Toumpas is terrible, and that Kelly (draftee) will be the same...

its rare i will go against your ele (unless its basher related) but some people do struggle to put on size.

Lucas Cook is the perfect example. Melbourne put a few preseasons into him with the gym and he barely put on any weight. A preseason will fix 95% of people but not everyone.

all i say is good luck with Bootsma next year.

im not saying toumpas wont work out, but its a possibility.

Oh sure there is a chance there, but I'll comfortably be backing Toumpy to be a star ;)
