Jonathan Brown has decided to extend his AFL career into a 15th season after signing a new contract that will see him remain at the Brisbane Lions until at least the end of 2014.

Ringo

Great news but just hope we can get some support for him this year so he is not double and triple tagged. McGuane may take some heat off him but we really need Lisle to really step up and have an extended crack as the second forward

Nige

Fantastic news, here's hoping Simon Black goes around once more as well.

This would be very handy for the Delhi Tigers

Ringo

If Black goes round for one more year which I suspect he will think he will be really managed and possibly only play home games.  He is still discussing and deciding on his future,  Each year when I see Blackie at pre-season training it seems to get harder each year for him.

Annnnd there goes any trade value he had. Haha thanks mate

Great news to hear that the Browndog is going around again.

Surely Blacky will get a Chappy 10 game contract that sees him only play home games and will more than likely be either sub each week

Could potentially be the sub or get subbed at half time for interstate games? I know he doesn't really fit the mold of your typical sub, but I guess it could be a way to get the most out of him, if he's willing to do that, in his final year.

How about the sub out instead of in?

Ringo

Black was  subbed 3 times this year once as sub and twice as subbed out.

Showed that he he still has it especially in game against Geelong at Gabba where he scored 157 SC Points. maybe just hold him for the big games as he also scored 115 against the Pies,

Great news that Brownie is going again. Hopefully Black can go one more year, I don't care how often he plays, just as long as he does!

GoLions

Great to have him with us for 1 more year. His leadership both on and off the field is invaluable.
