Nige says: Chad Wingard is quick, agile and physical. He's a great kick for goal, he lays tackles, he does nearly everything. And second years blues? Non-existent. It's clear Chad didn't get the memo on that one. He won the John Cahill medal for being Port's Best and Fairest in 2013, becoming the equal youngest winner of such an award. That wasn't it though, Chad was also named in the 2013 All Australian team. Want more convincing? The guy just turned 20! He's just that good. There's almost nothing bad to say about Chad Wingard's 2013, he ticked just about every box and really left his mark on the competition and has become one of Port's top player in only his second year. Fantasy football loves Chad Wingard, he does everything they like and more to produce very good scores. Do I have to remind everyone again that this guy is only a second year player?! An average of 98.6 was his output for season 2013 which included 8 tons and a further 6 scores in the 90s. That means he scores 90+ in 14 of the 22 games this year, impressive? I think so! I reckon he's a it's highly probable for him to average over 100 next year. If you're not sold yet, I should probably mention that he's a bloody good chance to receive M/F status which should almost see him locked and loaded. I'll be picking him, will you?

Predicted 2014 average: 100-110

Locked!!! One of a very few ATM and should almost definitely get DP next year.

I smell another Zorko, but doubt I'll have the guts to leave him out.  ;D

TeeJay

wont get the freedom and lack of respect he did this year. Will be a gun player for a long time but I expect a drop off next year.

I dont. This will be Chads 3rd year, not 2nd like Zorks. Anyway, Zorko played awesome this year, just not great for fantasy :(

My concern also kind of want to get proven premos next year in an effort not to get stuck with Zorko or Maric types again

Vinny

Yeah same KB.

Wingard is making nervous as he is quite inconsistent. I think I might not start with him... :-X

Nige

Inconsistent? It was his second year. As amazing as he was, being a second year player, he wasn't going to be immune to the odd down game. His average remained high 90s for the most part, even with scores in the 70s and a 69.

Sorry I don't mean like he is super consistent but it is his first good year and he is quite prone to 70s scores and scores in the 80s. I didnt word that properly. I mean we are expecting him to break-out after one good year, just not sure if it is worth the risk. No doubt he is a great player though.

My only worry is when I look at Bennell, Dusty and Fyfe's 3rd years after breaking out in the 2nd...

Holz

Mid only he is no chance.

Forward and he probably won't make the squad. Has had only one good year and will be really pricey. Expectt him to get more attention I would pick gray over him I think.

Ricochet

Agree with Holz here. Will cop a lot more attention next year because he is a match winner.
If a fwd I will wait and see how he goes, maybe a possible upgrade target, but won't be starting with him

TeeJay

people should also note that his scores were often inflated because he scored well in a lot of last quaters when port came from behind or won a close game. cant expect that to happen every week

SydneyRox

I would be nervous about a combination of second year blues, tagging, port getting more attention overall effecting his scores next year
