on another note, congrats to JB on winning the AFL Players Madden Medal

QuoteJude Bolton has been awarded the 2013 AFL Players Madden Medal, in front of 650 industry guests and peers at the Grand Ballroom, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

The AFL Players Association Madden Medal is awarded to the retiring player who has demonstrated on-field excellence, personal development and growth, as well as community spirit over the course of their playing career.

The Award is voted on by the Board of the AFL Players Association. This years poll saw Bolton come in ahead of other Madden Medal nominees Adam Selwood, Andrew Embley, David Rodan, Aaron Davey, Jason Blake, Nathan Lovett-Murray and David Hille.

Bolton becomes the third Swan in the Award's seven year history to take home the prestigious Madden Medal, following in the footsteps of Brett Kirk (2010) and Michael O Loughlin (2009).

After an injury interrupted, but premiership winning, 2012 season, young midfielder Luke Parker enjoyed his most consistent season to date in 2013 and took out the The Dennis Carroll Trophy for Most Improved player.

Well done to outgoing Chairman Richard Colless, 2012 premiership stars Ted Richards and Nick Malceski, departing development coach George Stone and radio personality and huge Swans supporter Peter 'Grubby' Stubbs who have all been awarded Life Membership of the club.

After winning back-to-back awards in 2005 and 2006, Swans veteran Jude Bolton has taken out his third Barry Round Shield for Best Clubman.

Known for his hardness at the ball as well as his positive demeanour, Bolton has been a popular figure at the Swans since he joined the club 15 seasons ago and has been a strong role model on and of field.

Well done co-captain Jarrad McVeigh who has taken out the Paul Kelly Players Player Award. The award, which has been won four times by Adam Goodes since its inception in 2001, is based on weekly votes from the Swans' senior team.

McVeigh played every game in 2013, beginning as an attacking midfielder before injuries forced a move onto the half-back line.

Jarrad McVeigh and Josh Kennedy have tied for the Paul Roos Award for Best Player/s in the 2013 Finals Series.

Both players were influential in this year's finals campaign, with McVeigh posting a 42-possession, two-goal performance in the Swans' 24-point semi final win over Carlton at ANZ Stadium, while Kennedy was again among the clubs most consistent throughout September.

A massive congratulations to co-captain Jarrad McVeigh (807 votes) who has won the 2013 Bob Skilton Medal, from fellow co-captain Kieren Jack (769) and midfielder Josh Kennedy (650).
