Mailman the 2nd

Lets be completely honest here

If money was the deciding factor, then Franklin would be at GWS

Holz

Not sure what you guys are complaining about this move gives you a great shot at another flag. One of the best mdifelds in the comp and now one of the best forward lines.

I think its a very good move, sydney will find a way to make the forward line work as they usally do.

Sydney Freo grandfinal next year.

Wait he'd be getting less money here than at GWS right?

Right?  :'(

Yeah, $1.4 vs $2m and $1.1 at the Hawks.

I mean in the end its a 4 for 1 trade off here.

Mumford, White, Reid and Membrey (maybe he might stay idk) for Franklin

I dunno man, like I think we're going to get a lot of complaints for this

We're hearing Mumford and a trade will be involved in the Buddy move to the Swans

Aren't they both free agents though

Both free agents, both restricted. Meaning Hawks can match an offer and he stays a Hawk.

Both White and Mummy have decided they want to go, so not much we can do about that.

Dont think Reid and Membrey are part of the deal, they may however see it as a negative to their potential on field time.

Exactly, doesnt seem it is the #1 issue for Buddy. Getting out of Melbourne and still trying to win a flag both massive issues

Their backline's pretty good too.
Agree looks like it could be a Swans v Dockers GF.

Yep, that's a given.

So, he wanted out of Hawthorn but wants another flag?  ???

if this happens he just got a pay upgrade and i would argue increased his chances of a flag. Win Win for him.

I think it's quite a smart move to be perfectly honest. Lets face it, Franklin is only 26, Tippett is only 26 so you have two genuine gun forwards for another 6-8 years. Reid is still developing and hasn't showed the critics what he CAN do yet.

O'Keefe, Goodes, Richards etc are all getting on so their window is still open for another 2-3 years before they lose those guns and have to build up other players. Sydney are a very good chance next year IMO.

Yep, agree with you Holzman.

Yeah thats right. I heard that and laughed a little. Was sound logic, but I guess we all thought Buddy was only chasing the money...

Cicjose

what does ricochet's pic show other than Buddy going for the money?

But Bolton was veteran listed and on a 1 year contract so I doubt he costed more than 200,000 to the salary cap.

Were Reid and Mumford worth 1 million together?

He obviously wants to move to Sydney. Getting out of Melbourne, who knows?

But not all about the money if he chooses Sydney over GWS.

Ricochet

I know for a fact that Buddy preferred a move away from Melbourne because he does not like the limelight and attention off the ground that interfered with his personal life.
