"IN-DEMAND North Melbourne key defender Luke Delaney has nominated St Kilda as his preferred new home after telling the Roos earlier this month he wanted a trade."

"AFL.com.au revealed three weeks ago Delaney had decided to leave North, having received an attractive three-year offer from St Kilda and met with Carlton and the Brisbane Lions."

"Delaney played 26 games for North after debuting in 2011, but struggled for opportunity this season when the Roos' preferred key defenders Scott Thompson and Nathan Grima were fit."

Holz

very bad news in that one of the dleany brothers leaves, i hope we at least keep cam delaney.

good news though is you think this would increase our chances of getting NDS.

Delaney + 2nd round pick for NDS would be great.

Nige

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe the two teams could organise a trade including both players. Will have to wait and see how it pans out.

Another North player is almost certainly on his way out.

its annoying but uunderstandable, we are developing these guys to replace thompson. grima., petrie etc... but its understandable they want to play now. Will be troublesome if this continues though.

roo boys!

Yeah I was personally a pretty big fan of L.Delaney but the loss of him certainly isn't going to destroy the club. We'll see what happens with NDS, would be a good get however we get him.

Kennedy isn't a bad little player either from the snippets I've seen but like Holz said doubt he would have played much in the next year or so, he's been groomed to replace some older blokes.

North Melbourne defender Luke Delaney is expected to become a Saint by Tuesday morning for a late draft pick according to the AFL website.

im hearing pick 77.

massive underpay but im sure its an off the table agreement for them giving NDS for free.

So Delaney for NDS + 77 very hapy with that.

Nige

I think North are treating the situation well. They know he wants to be a Saint next year, at they just took Dal from them, so yeah... no point playing hardball. But Pick 77 means they're effectively sending him on his way for free.

Yeah fair enough, very well handled by both North and St Kilda I think! Good stuff

Basically for us its Dal + 77 for Delaney....yeah that's a win haha

on the other side of the equation they did well too.

77 + NDS for 22 + Delaney,

pretty good.

the delaney brothers deserve games so will be happy if luke gets 20+ next year.

the best thing is we have the better brother still training up in our reserves.
