Memphistopheles

This is also the reason I won't consider starting with Suckling or Walker.

If they well and truly show they are over the injury (it would take at least half a season to convince me) then they can be an upgrade target later in the season.

Also it always seems to be the season back when a player is most at risk of re-injuring that knee, or doing something else serious. I can recall multiple instances of a player going down with a knee again during recovery or not long after getting back but hardly any of them doing it again 2-3 years later.

He is rated higher than his brother by some people in the industry, at least he was last year

This has got me interested. Hadn't heard this before and interested to hear if this is a common view.

Wouldn't take him straight back from an injury, but will be keeping an eye on his NAB scores

Last year in my profile I said he could start scoring like his brother.

I understand that with Prems coming off ACL they are not going to get straight back to premium scoring

but at a price of $184K Claye has huge value

Rookie priced
Bye Rd 10
is in the best 22 when fit
has been tearing up the training track
has huge potential
coach has been impressed with him

by the time the season starts he will have had a full 12 months recovery time and will have completed a full pre season

only need to avg 70 - 75 to be value

if named rd 1 he is a lock

Completely agree, has been locked for me since mid lseason this year, was watching him closely. Is cheaper than the better mid rookies also. Has also apparently been lighting it up in preseason, although who hasn't at this time of year  :P

Nails

Is he definitely a lock for the team though?

With players like Lewis Taylor and James Aish he's got a couple more kids to compete with to get a spot.

Toga

Yeah he's definitely on my radar because he presents such good value! But as Nails said, is he definitely best 22?

The additions of Mayes & Aish in the last two years would surely make his spot a bit touch and go at this stage wouldn't it? :-X

Adamant

Seriously am I missing something here with this guy? he's played 15 games with a career best average of 65 in 2012 (from 8 games). Doubt he is even best 22.

Not sure what makes him such a lock when there are better cheap mid options imo.

Who else are you looking at around that price mate?

Anthony, Young, O'Rourke and X. Ellis are a few I would pick before him.

Ricochet

Mmm the last two are pretty much rookie so yeh i agree but i have them with Beams. Anthony's JS is nearly worse than Beams. Young is a very very good pick though, agree with you there

Personally he's not a lock for me at all, just on my radar because of how expensive the rookies are next season, if Claye is gonna get games then he's gotta be considered (even if he's only gonna be putting up 60's!) But I'm not sure what his JS is like tbh.

I think there's a bit of hype around him because he's been compared to his brother quite a bit :P

not sure, he has shown in the past that hecan score. If he wasnt injury prone i think he would be a 90+ mid who is lock 22. unfortunately his injuries stop him being doing that.

If he can completely recover (unlikely) he will be the best pick up of the year.

If he can play relatively uninjured I think a 75+ is definately on the cards. I have him in over martin at this stage.
