Cab someone tell me if Elliot Yeo has re-signed with the Lions as of now?
I thought I saw somewhere last week where he had.
Any one got any info?

As article says Yeo has requested a transfer back to WA but is a wanted player. Not sure what effect Leppitsch as coach will have on the decision now though.

Very, very strong rumours linking him to West Coast.

You can have our third round pick and we'll be done with it ;)

Ringo

Yes ele suspect his mind his made up so Leppa probably will not change his mind.  Interesting that he is connected with Eagles though being an East Fremantle boy. Not sure whether 3rd round pick will cut it seeing he was taken in first round of 2011 draft with our second pick at 30.

elephants

Yeah he's certainly worth more than our third round pick but I was under the impression that the Lions hand are tied at this stage. He's out of contract, he wants to go home, if you don't take our offer we will just pick him up for free in the rookie draft.

Really you may have to accept unders for him because of the contract situation. Kind of like we had to when we lost Judd.

Looks a really nice player though so would happily give up our second round pick even though we mightn't have to.

Ringo

You are correct Ele so we will be taking what we can get for him or I hope we would as I would hate to see him walk for free to the PSD.  He may not want to risk PSD given the clubs that will pick before you.

elephants

Yeah that is true, should be interesting. I expect we will probably give you our third pick which is quite harsh on Brissie because I really like the looks of him!

Surely we would have to pay the Lions to take Smith :P

Think we established up here already that Brissie won't be setting a price ;)

There are a couple of things to consider with Yeo:

He is a required player so Brisbane will be out to get best offer.
If agreement can not be reached with Brisbane he will go into PSD and will be at the mercy of other clubs and I do not think he will want to do that. St Kilda for one may be one club that will snap him up before your pick.
Can understand Yeo's concern with go home but if both him and Docherty are retained then they will imo be fighting for one position in Brisbanes best 22. Remember Yeo only got his chance when Clarke was injured and he will return as well.

THE West Coast Eagles are poised to snare Brisbane utility Elliot Yeo.

The emerging 19-year-old is understood to have settled on a switch back to his home state to continue his blossoming career after considering a switch to West Coast or Fremantle.

Yeo is set to sign a three-year contract with West Coast.

Looks like we will get a mid 20s pick for him. Probably fair, would take that.
