Reaching his prime.  Must be a lock next year.

My only locks are Ablett and Pendles, then I have to decide between guys like Jelwood, Watson, Griffin, Dangerfield etc

Not starting with Joel at this stage. Think he might be the extra $30k that I can spend elsewhere on other players, especially with only the $10 million salary cap to start with. (But, always will depend on his draw) and will also be in my team by the end.

Lock for me.

I reckon he'll average 123.

I few days ago I had already written him down as a must, then I thought I, maybe SJ  is a better pick. Not sure if he'll retain DPP but if he does I'll pick him because i think it's important to have a DPP in the mid. Didn't last year except for on the bench. If he's not a DPP anymore then Jelwood will be a lock for me.

Just reading about the rule changes and interpretations for next year on the afl website.

''The high contact rule aims to discourage players from seeking forceful high contact.A player who drives his head into a stationary or near stationary player will be regarded as having had prior opportunity. If he is then tackled he will have to dispose of the ball properly to not be penalised. If a player ducks into a tackle and that action causes high contact to occur the umpire will call play on'''

They might as well call this the Selwood rule, anyone think it will affect him for next year? Selwood received 72 free kicks last year, about 3 a game, by far the most in the afl. Cotchin got the second most free kicks in the competition with 46, where most of the top midfielders recieved 20-30, 50 less free posessions for the year.

No doubt the guy is an absolute gun, but even if this has a small effect might make me look elsewhere and see him as an upgrade target.
