Neil Balme says the @GeelongCats won't use any of the picks it received for Podsiadly, Hunt or Chapman

Expect @GeelongCats to have only 2 live picks in the draft. Will use three late picks to promote Blicavs, Burbury and Walker. #TradeDebate

Probably only need two with the plethora of quality youngsters they have in their arsenal.

Nige

Yep, exactly. They seem quite content to develop and blood their youngsters as evident by their moving on of Chappy, Pods, and Hunt.

Mailman the 2nd

Surely this is year they convincingly drop out of the top 4  :o

They can't go for it again can they?

Just when you think you can count them out... they somehow manage to hang around.

They're waiting to release the monster that is Shane Kersten... and then a few others younger lads... so yeah, who knows?!  :o

not sure why not, they will have the best player in the comp next year (selwood)

their old guys will still be going around and i expect another step up for the likes of motlop christenson, duncan etc....

plus they might even get Hmac back.

they might drop out of the 4 but they will still be a force.

It's just a big "IF" on whether kids can fill the void, whether they can step up. I still believe they've done the right thing to soften the impact of older players retiring over the next few years. Otherwise you'll end up like saints.

Nige

Joel Corey is considering coming out of retirement for a playing/coaching role at GWS next season, similar to what Luke Power did.
