Well, we've thrown away a chance to be in a GF, the MaGoos got smashed as well, all there is to do now is ponder season 2014.

So without any further ado, what do you think Geelong should do list wise in the offseason and what will our best 22 in Rd 1 2014 look like?

IF... the rumours are true and Chappy, Hunt & Corey are to finish up we'll need to address a few list issues.

To start things off this is how is see Cats Rd 1:

B: Jared Rivers, Tom Lonergan, Cam Guthrie
HB: Andrew Mackie, Harry Taylor, Corey Enright
C: James Kelly, Joel Selwood, Mathew Stokes
HF: Allen Christensen, Nathan Vardy, Steven Motlop
F: Shane Kersten, Tom Hawkins, Steve Johnson
Foll: Dawson Simpson, Mitch Duncan, Josh Caddy
I/C: Taylor Hunt, Jimmy Bartel, Mark Blicavs
Emg: Travis Varcoe

If we MUST get rid of Chapman & Hunt I think we should trade, not delist. I think we have a very good list overall.

The talent in the VFL team is crazy, Smedts, GHS, Thurlow, Walker, Brown, Hunt could all play at AFL level

Would throw Kersten in that list too. 41 goals in 13 games is very impressive!

Vinny

Wow! Kersten :D He was going to debut vs Hawthorn but didnt :(

Ricochet

You really need Simpson or HMac on the park. Blicavs was impressive this year but these two are much better ruckmen.

Yeah, he's been on the cusp for a while. With Pods getting older and Hawkins with his back issues I'm sure we'll see a lot more of him next year :)

Noz

Geelong cannot afford to play Simpson, Vardy, Kersten and Blicavas all in the one team especially with the new interchange restrictions

Changes i would make to that team

Out: Blicavs, Simpson, Kersten

In: McIntosh, GHS, Menzel (The Sub unsure of his fitness coming back from another ACL)

I can't see James Kelly spending the season in the midfield i expect him to take the same route as Bartel and Corey this year, This will give Scott a chance to give more youngsters a go in the middle.

DCAK

With Bliclavs getting justs 212 hitouts from 19 games played I really dont see him as a bona fide ruckman as such.  What I do see is a unique opportunity to exploit a tall player with extraordinary cardio traits.  I think Bliclavs can't neatly be pigeon-holed into traditional AFL position. What if, he could be the tallest winger or HB/HF in the league? It's worth consideration.

Maybe use him as a LRT-type swingman? Can definitely run to both ends haha

Strange thread so far, some great comments and some very odd ones, more odd than mine :o

Nice, lets hope he gets a run with all the old blokes hanging up the boots :)

Vinny

How many games do you Geelong blokes reckon Jackson Thurlow will get in 2014?

He needs to get games...

Geelong need to continue what they did under Bomber Thompson and surround the young guys with experienced players. They need to get as many games as they can into guys like Caddy and Thurlow. They'll still be a force next season, possibly a bigger one in 2015.

Nige

Yeah, a lot of the Cats defenders are on the older side, with Hunt possibly on his way out. I expect Thurlow to get more games.

DCAK

I hope there is some truth to the rumour Geelong is talking to Heath Shaw, great player, would really bolster our defence.
