I am starting to respect Crowley.....no remorse for Balla, haha. But I hear he is a good bloke in real life. :P
Yeah apparently its the same with Crowley. I actually respect crowley as a player and would love to have him on my team, hate balantyne though and probably would even if he played for the hawks lol.

Mr.Craig

Balla the pest was officially exterminated yesterday.

I think what pleased me most about the win yesterday was the evenness of a solid team performance. Last year Sydney beat us because their lower tier players played a lot better than our lower tier players.

Lake and Gunston were stars, Lewis a rung lower and then after that it was just everyone else putting in a solid performance for their role in the team. Cyril laid some important tackles, Hale some strong marks at crucial times, Roughy a couple of goals when we needed them, Smith with the long bomb in the last quarter, Hill provided some important touches, etc.

It's always been said we've had a team of stars, but yesterday we were a star team :D

Ziplock

oh man, rioli trying to tackle sandilands at one point was like the funniest thing ever.

Brian Lake's quite an odd cat. Was on the phone to his wife, but was made to pose with the Cup and put his phone in the Cup while the photo was taken (as can be seen in the vid). :P

I'm gonna post this here since Lake and Cyril are two of three names here and this in the Grand Final thread.

AFL ‏@AFL 2m

MRP has reviewed #AFLGF. After double-loading, Brian Lake can accept 3 games, Cyril Rioli 1, while Nick Suban will go directly to Tribunal.

Vinny

Lake :(

He won the Norm Smith, give him a break! Although he probably doesn't even care.

Rioli should have gotten more.

Nige

I'm surprised Cyril didn't get more...

I think there was too much made of it. He didn't do it with a great deal of force, it didn't result in the player hitting his head on the ground and there was no injury to speak of.

As for Lake... :(

I guess at first glance it looked a lot worse than it was, looking back at it, it's really not that bad... still, I guess a week is right.

Lake's is probably deserved. Normally that would be 2 weeks down to 1, so now it is 4 down to 3.

It will be interesting to see what Suban gets. Very similar to Judd with Rischitelli a few years ago.

Vinny

This isn't the first time for Rioli is it?

Mailman the 2nd

Note that Rioli got double points for that, so he'd normally be off free.

Pretty poor ruling IMO
