Every player in the league was drafted in some way at some point. I'd say relying on strong drafting is fairly justified.. ;)

Well Ossie knows who I'd like to take here and I think he'd be pretty alright with me taking this pick given that I PM'd him before with a list of guys including my #1 and he seemed keen. There is only one other guy on that list who is still available as well and he didn't mention anyone else he liked.

So the Cruisers select Jake Barrett.

I think most won't know much about him and have ignored him given how late he was taken but that was only because he was a zone selection.

GWS' last zone selection was Zac Williams who turned out really well and he only went on the rookie list where as Barrett goes straight to the senior list which says to me he's even better than Williams

Had had he been available for other clubs in the AFL draft I believe he would have gone Top 30. He looks like a good inside midfielder who has drawn comparisons to Kieran Jack - mainly because he's the second cousin of some former NRL legend.

He's also Bruest's second cousin and we all know how he turned out.

Aside from being a good inside midfielder I watched his highlights package and he has a great eye for goal which is also a plus and I can see this contested scoring system suiting him down to the ground.
