I disagree with the 'boxing is dead' take tbh man. In my opinion, Floyd has just sucked all the life out of it. He's a wizard but everyone knows his fights are boring. I think once we get some fresh blood into the title race and some new names, boxing could take off again.

not meaning to get 'partisan' but I 'gave up' on boxing once I got into UFC/MMA ... having said that I was only ever a casual boxing fan but as RiOtChEsS wrote the multiple associations, padded records, dodging of fights, bs match-ups, corruption, etc, etc turned me off ...

I hitched my bandwagon to the UFC becoming the dominant combat sports association in 10-15yrs, having said that, it does have it's own issues such as corruption, PEDs and monopoly power among other things ...

back on topic ... Mayweather clearly won, the length and reach disadvantage was too much in the end ... my 'conspiracy theory bias' hinted that the ref is also 'employed' on Mayweather's side - not saying that he turned the result but it weighted things further into Floyd's favour imo ...

I know that tying up is a tactical move but anytime he was getting engaged in the corner Floyd would basically headlock Manny and get out - I just reckon the ref allowed Floyd to hold onto the head lock too long too often ...  :P   ::)   ;)

Think the only guy that could beat Floyd is someone who employs the exact same tactics e.g. Don't be aggresive, don't initiate exchanges, tie up and run from the opponent. And then hope to get a decision on the scorecards. Would be the most boring fight in boxing history but I don't think anyone can succeed 'taking it' to Floyd after seeing what happened yesterday

i'm of the view that they're fighting to win but I just didn't like how everything was weighted towards him aside from the general physical advantages - ie the ref not cutting the tie-up a lot quicker - fine that Floyd does it but don't let him hold it or get his 'dirty boxing' hits in while he's holding on!  ;)
