Thanks for the PMs fellas - Nails, you'll remember I coach the Lambs after we spank you couple times next season ;)

I was after Lloyd or Holman so had to reconsider but I'm very happy to have the Nat Fyfe-esque James Sicily available with this pick. Like Fyfe, he'll need to put on some muscle before he becomes a regular but when he breaks into the Hawks midfield the kid will be a gun. 8)

We're going to take future super jet a winner of the sexiest name at the draft night Orazio Fantasia!

A highly rated small forward with some sexy pace, highly rated by ex coach Nathan Bassett who also happens to be the forward line coach at the bombers (Mind = Blown). We're lacking small forwards at Essendon so wouldn't be surprised to see Orazio play some games late 2014 as he needs to bulk up beforehand. But he'll be a player, Mark my words,  8)

We are still tossing up whether to elevate Ellis-Yolmen, pass or take another player with our last pick.

We now have 39 players on our senior list, with the last one likely to be filled by a bloke coming into the team through the rookie draft. Leaves our draft looking like:

Pretty happy with that effort - we've added a ready made young midfielder who should get games from day dot, two young rucks who have been dominant at junior and state level who will see our ruck line is competitive for years into the future, a mature age mid/fwd who knows how to kick a goal, and another young mid in Sicily who will probably take time to develop but we feel has a bright future ahead of him!

teach you to draft well last season and not want to delist anyone :)

think we will struggle to get through 2 - 3 rounds next season even with rookie upgrades. not much point delisting good players just to draft more a year behind the ones we have, not unless they are the very best .

still players retire and fail i guess..

Plus the rookie elevation of Mitch Clisby I'm very happy with the way things went in this draft. We labeled areas that we really needed to build on in defence and forward and we were able to do that with Langdon, McStay and Benny Brown plus Jansen to  improve our midfield depth even more because you can never have to many midfielders.
