So, Heath Scotland has retired from the Buenos Aires Armadillos.

Scotland played 39 matches for Buenos Aires (including 5 finals) at an average of 92.92 (a great average for a defender), 2 representative matches (one for Vic Metro and one for the Americas) and Captained the Armadillos once.

Heath Scotland also achieved All-Worlds selection in 2012, and was 3rd in the Buenos Aires best and fairest that year.


But serious questions have to be asked about the Armadillo defense!

Scotland is out, Gilbert not expected to return until AFL Round 16, Newman not until AFL round 13, and Astbury might be out for the season.


That means for the short term, the Armadillos only have 3 defenders that have played AFL this year - Thompson, Burgoyne and Wood.
