HISTORY:

Patton was recruited to the AFL by Greater Western Sydney with the first overall selection in the 2011 AFL National Draft. Patton travelled to Stockholm, Sweden in early 2012 for treatment on a jumper's knee injury, and missed the first eleven rounds of the 2012 season. Patton played his first AFL game on 16 June against Richmond, kicking one goal from seven disposals. In Round 3, 2013, Patton's tenth career game, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which ended his 2013 season.

SUMMARY:

If Patton recovers well from the knee reco and actually gets a full preseason into him he could start to show what he is capable of. Could average around the 60-70 mark and should have a discount, predicted price for 2014  .. $190,000 - $200.000 ? If he shows some form in the Nab will you pay a little extra for the 2011 No 1 pick ?

PLAYER PROFILE UPDATE:  24/12/2013 .. Patton's price is $204,100 and is good value, will you select him over similar priced players like M.Clarke, P.Karnezis, A.Fasolo

Jukes

Was playing well first two rounds of 2012, lucky I didn't pick him up like I was going to in the pre-season ::)

47.6 average gives him a price of $245,140, less whatever discount he has, 20% maybe? That'd leave him at $196,112, which is certainly tempting if he has a good pre-season.

Colliwobblers

i'd consider him at that price especially if the fwd numbers / options are as poor as they were this season. Could go well with Cameron demanding the opposition #1 defender. And if Buddy there? this guy could be off the chain.....

Rusty00

I started with him this year to make some early cash which he was on track to do before his injury.

If he's up and going Rd.1 I'll start with him next year as well unless there is an abundance of good forward rookies.

pommyadam

huh, he's exactly a year younger than me
LOCKED! :P

will be interesting to see how he copes with Buddy/Cameron stealing his points, but could be a valuable option if he gets a full preseason (and discounted appropriately) - will depend on available rookies though (and Boyd competing for that place too)

nrich102

He'll be getting the 3rd defender at most clubs with the 1st and 2nd going to Buddy and Cameron :o Top 3 in the Coleman all at GWS? :o

How do they determine the discount? Would think after only managing 10 games in 2 years he would be still at a similar price to draftees...

Would have to be very cheap to consider. Even as the third tall fwd he probably won't be chalking up 100s for a while.

Pretty sure this is how they determine the discounts:

No games : 50% discount
1-3 games > 55 avge : 30%
1-3 games < 55 avge: 20%
4-7 games > 55 avge: 10%
4-7 games < 55 avge : No discount

Adamant

Started with him this year and was happy with his 61 & 67 in the opening rounds... then he had that 15 on my field. :(

If he's under 200k, I think I'll pick him again (If there aren't many decent forward options again).

yeah, depending on forward options, could be a valid pick.

that's kind of how it's supposed to work... rarely how it does though :P

Ricochet

Patton, Boyd, Hogan, Billings, Lennon, Gartlett will all fight it out for rookie spots in my fwd line, depending on JS/Preseasons

I know Buddy is quite special but winning the Coleman with a team he doesn't play for is a bit of a stretch. ;D

stew42

Yeah, it'll be Buddy and Tippett with the Quinella  ;)
